Lisa Goldman was diagnosed with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), Adenocarcinoma (ROS1+) at age 41. She had no known risk factors for lung cancer: no family history, no exposure to excessive air pollution or radon, she was a physically fit exercise instructor, had eaten a plant-based diet for the previous 20 years, and had never smoked or lived with smokers. She learned the hard way that anyone with lungs can get lung cancer.

After her diagnosis, Lisa dove into advocacy for lung cancer patients, with a specific emphasis on supporting patients with the ROS1+ bio-marker. She co-founded the ground-breaking patient-let group called The ROS1ders. She also serves on the Speakers Bureau for the Lung Cancer Foundation of America (LCFA), as well as the patient counsel for Nuvalent (recently acquired by GSK).  Lisa has one of the most highly trafficked lung cancer patient blogs called Every Breath I Take.

Lisa has a BA from UC Berkeley and a JD from UCLA. When she's not working as a patient advocate, she enjoys making art.
