“Spyro is a baby game for babies” doesn’t sound so bad coming from the smartest baby of 1996.

I found him. He was in the thumbnail

funny to find this after the announcement just now

"Spyro is a baby game for babies"
Me, 33, still can't get past that staircase jumping part: 😐

As soon as I saw spyro I was like 'dang I gotta replay reignited trilogy'

you guys are literally the only retrospective on Spyro 1 that I've ever seen call attention to the fully-polygonal text and numbers in the original game. It had a totally unique style that made even the HUD feel like something solid and substantial.

Being a child, you only remember bits and pieces of early life, but the earliest clear memory I have (basically the moment I became a fully sentient being) is my dad passing me a controller and I was playing Spyro’s 2, Ripto’s Rage.

I am Spyro. Spyro is me.

Ugh thank god I was about to start actually working

Crazy connection I just found out about today while watching SummoningSalt's new video about Spyro speedrunning.
The guy who composed the soundtrack for the original Spyro trilogy was Stewart Copeland, who is also the drummer for The Police.
The lead singer of The Police is sting, who wrote a bunch of songs (most of which sadly ended up getting cut) for The Emperor's New Groove.
Then there's the connection made in this video of David Spade being Kuzco and also Sparx, completing the Spyro, The Police, The Emperor's New Groove circle. (you can also complete the circle with Patrick Warburton voicing Kronk and Flynn from Skylanders).

That interactive CD sampler music honestly activated me like a sleeper cell

The fact these grown ass dragons couldn’t defend themselves & had to rely on a tiny purple one to save them

the cut to bush on the aircraft carrier with the voiceover "All was right in the early 2000s" is fucking diabolical in the funniest way

suspiciously Spyro shaped outline in my stomach
I wouldn’t have the slightest clue, fellas.

HE’S BACK!!!

Let me remind you Tom Kenny reprise his role as Spyro in the Reignited trilogy 2018 before that his last time he voiced him was 16 years earlier with Enter the Dragonfly after that he was recast for several games

Fun fact, the pizza hut demo disk were the idea of Reggie fils-ame, years before he became president of nintendo of america

My parents didn't know anything about consoles when they got a used PS1 and some games for me as a kid. They didn't know it required a memory card to save your progress. And my mom refused to let me leave the console on for hours on pause so my first experience playing video games was speed running Spyro everyday to get to the new levels I hadn't played yet until my parents figured out how and where to buy the memory card their 6 year old was babbling about. Kids these days have no idea how good they have it

Dang, no mention of Tom Kenny being Spyro's voice in the original/reignited Trilogy (minus the first PS1 game)? That man is in like 95% of all our childhoods with how many characters he played including Spyro.

36:02 I actually instantly recognized that silhouette as George Lopez's character "Mr. Electric" from the film Sharkboy and Lavagirl from 2005. Yes, I am ashamed that I instantly recognized it.

The Legend of Spyro (and the next ones in the series) were the only Spyro games I played. I played A New Beginning before I even really knew how to read, Will forever be in my heart. Played it on the Nintendo ds
