The entire time I played this game I thought: “this would be awesome if I hadn’t already played it”

A easy trick to make the overworld fresh is to have a terrible memory and forgot 90% of it!

I think that the Zelda team has forgotten the power of limitation. Locked doors with corresponding keys, and enclosed linear dungeons allow you to overcome obstructions and limitation. A balance of open world and linear dungeons would be great

"Link, they MUST be BLUE Bokoblin Horns."

this is the best game I’ve ever been bored of

I cannot believe Nintendo had the audacity to make Sage abilities activate when I walk up to them and interact with them instead of some kind of hot key system

The big issue with TOTK is that once you've seen the depths and sky islands in one region, you've essentially seen them all.

"Every 10 seconds of cool shit came with 10 minutes of trying to get a wheel to stick in the right place" is a perfect encapsulation of every Nintendo Prestige Sequel. Anyways, checking in after that MP4 review, totally unrelated comment

Tbh I wish we'd have more smaller open worlds that are filled with diverse and unique content than all these huge worlds with a lot of empty space and repetitive content.

It was fun but I wish we got more traditional dungeons instead of "go activate these four things and fight the boss".

the thing about the sky islands is that they’re really impressive and fun to seamlessly go up to but once you get up there it’s so disappointing. most sky islands feel like they share the same or similar layouts and are tiny. once you realize the tutorial is the most varied and interesting one, it becomes so much less enticing to explore them

The fact that so many interactions were stacked onto 1 button but they still left a button dedicated exclusively to calling a horse that can only hear you if you're 5 feet from it is astonishingly bad design.

Nothing will ever be more deflating than when I built a contraption to break into the water temple early, just to be told “sorry you need to go back down and get the quest mandatory npc to solve any of these puzzles”

Why did you let me sequence break if Im not allowed to sequence break…

In the end, I've come away from it going 'you took the longest time for a Zelda game EVER to make....this?'

“I could tell YOU the story by now”
Almost had my drink shoot out my nose, lol.

Man the Lurelin Village pirate invasion was such a cool build up man. I remember talking to all the village residents across the map in excitement for a ship battle over the water, or maybe an optional ship dungeon like in Skyward sword, or At least a new enemy. But no, goblin men and tall lizard people for the 300th time.

The armors was the biggest disappointment for me. Too many of the old ones, half of them had no effects attached, while the other half had only ATK UP. There were tooo many armors with that effect and I was like c’mon guys, stretch your imagination a little. The weather armors were useless too. Attack boost in severe weather but DOESNT protect you from said weather- pointless!

I’m getting extremely burnt out on large games. I love open world games but there are so many of them coming out now it just makes me want a game on a smaller scale with a lot to do like Majora’s Mask.

I miss going to graveyards and creepy wells. Really wish they included a dead temple like in Ocarina of Time.
