I came to Japan wondering if this would be a country I could truly connect with.

I've always considered myself someone who's drawn to quieter places. Mountains, forests, and the sea - places where life slows down, so the idea of spending time in some of the busiest cities in the world honestly made me a bit anxious.

But somewhere along the way, Japan challenged the way I saw myself.

This film isn't really about Kyoto, Mount Fuji, Tokyo, or Kamakura. It's about what happened when I stopped trying to fit a place into my expectations and simply experienced it for what it was.
