For the N64 era this game was a revelation. You could drive a hovercraft a plane or a kart? What? Plus adventure mode in a racing? Really? Nobody had done that before
The silver coin challenges are great. They add difficulty to courses that are otherwise too easy. I especially like the adventure two silver coin challenges which are the most difficult.
I remember being so mad as a child racing Wiz Pig. Also the satisfaction of that music when you got certain awards like it felt extra special but suspenful? A vibe I can't describe
It's unbelievable how underrated this game is. It's amazing and definitely tops Mario kart 64 even though I love that too. Your review is perfection 👍🏽
DKR is one of those games that really gets more enjoyable when you get good at it. in the beginning its quirks can be frustrating but once you’ve mastered the game it feels so satisfying.
It was and it is still a great game for me. I remember spending so many days trying to find the keys, beating wiz-pig...so many memories. I still sometimes play and just listening to the music makes me happy. Nice video :)
Rare was really firing on all cylinders at the time. They gave us so many greats! It was my first cart racer and it made a hell of an impression on me as a kid at the time. I never forgot it including the music. The exploration theme alone was always a favorite
This game was peak. It's how I first knew about some characters like Banjo and Conker. Of course we know that Banjo would go on to have his own series... as did Conker.
