I personally like vintage to be, a re release or genuine vintage with modern electronics and run it, otherwise it just turns into another race weekend where the biggest budget wins and we already have plenty of that. I guess part of the charm for me is seeing how far our buggies have come as well

Started with a jrx2 in 1989 built on the kitchen table with my dad. I lost it in a move, wish I still had it. It's so good to see someone making parts for the original cars. They were and still are state of the art in many ways. I'm going to rip my XXX sct around today, not too many nice days left. Someone needs to start making parts again that are comparable to the original losi parts. The two transmission halves for example. 50$ on ebay is a bit much for new old stock that used to be 5-8$.

This video brings back so many memories. I still have my XX, XXT and 4wd Kyosho Lazer ZX-R, with Airtronics Caliber 3PS from when I raced the So Cal track scene in the early 90's. The Ranch Pit Stop, M&M hobbies in Corona, RCHR in Costa Mesa where I raced against Brian Kinwald and Mark Pavidis. They still get driven a couple times a year. The XX was my favorite with titanium everywhere, lightweight MIP ceramic diff/outdrives, CVDs, and still has a fishing weight in the nose.

9:46 super close to the tables I use for my rc and fishing rod building areas, love the adjustability, has stable legs, settings with memory and goes waaaaaayyyyy taller than I need. Such a plus when your shoulders and neck start to hurt 😂

What is left on that car that is original? I would think vintage would be pulling your car out of the closet, replacing broken bits with as close to stock original and leaving it at that. This is literally now a brand new car that happens to have a rear motor / stock trans /footprint. But it is a cool looking car for sure!

Had to do the same when I was rebuilding my xx4 this summer. Reamed (almost) all the holes to m3 size for new titanium screws and ball ends.

That’s awesome. My first RC was a xxcr kinwald edition. I’ve been trying to find one forever.

I sold it at a yard sale when we moved a few years after I got it. 😩

Im in the process of restoring my original ‘85 Bruiser , ‘86 RC10 and ‘86 Optima Pro. Finished rebuilding my ‘85 Tamyia Fox, ‘87 Clod ,’84 Grasshopper a few years ago. Been on a RC hiatus since ‘91-‘92 and getting back into it finally.
