At 73, Philip Bailey Confirms AWFUL 'Earth, Wind & Fire' Rumours..

At 73, Philip Bailey Confirms awful 'Earth, Wind & Fire' Rumours… and fans are stunned. Behind the funk was real friction.

Philip Bailey and Maurice White, were locked in a quiet, simmering feud nobody expected. From Bailey’s frustration with White’s control which runs deep. To the tension over who truly called the shots it wasn’t just creative — it was financial too.

White kept sole ownership, while others got a paycheck, not royalties. Bailey’s solo dreams? Met with resistance and cold shoulders from White himself.
When White paused the band, Bailey was crushed. This wasn’t just music — it was a battlefield.

The picture shown is NOT Jessica Cleaves, its Barbara Love of Friends of Distinction. You also have a picture of Stephanie Mills which is supposed to be Charles Stepney.

i think you meant the great and multi talented arranger Charles Stephney

Hi Phillip you don't remember me but we worked together at the Adams Mark Hotel together. You worked the Bellstand and I worked in PBX. I wanted to say thanks because you were soooo nice to help me when my Dad passed away. I had to go back to Minneapolis where I grew up for his funeral. So needless to say I was on auto pilot at the time but you made sure everything was good when I got to the airport. The BEST PART was when you and Earth, Wind and Fire got back together and had a concert at the Sheraton which used to be the Adams Mark Hotel i saw it as the Lord's way of giving you your sweet revenge and vindicated you! My Name is Rita Page and I just wanted to say thank you and GOD Bless You!

Can't do it, regardless of what's in this video I refuse to let this ruin the memories we all have of our music and bands of our era! Not gonna watch it, enough with all of these behind the scenes stories and drama. Our own lives are filled with enough already so don't add more by shattering our fond memories!!

This is bc just to put something together Maurice isn’t here to defend his self and I’m sure Phillup would of said something way before this

As a formal group member I know that Maurice White's work was hard. I don't agree with the money part of it because they should have gotten more but its management was what it needed to be and when you enter a group for the first time you don't understand when someone who has had that experience before is trying to prevent certain things from happening and preventing the group from falling apart so I understand Maurice White situation because of my own personal situation as a group member

Maurice was a genius but also an egomaniac! He ruled with an iron fist but musicians are artists! They need to express their individuality! They had a long run! More than most could ever imagine!

Charles Stepney - Associate Producer (Original recording), Musical arrangements, not Stephanie Mills.

that's not news. it's a business and that's the way things go. everyone is free to go at anytime when they don't feel like it's working for them anymore. it's not fair, it's business

Saw you at a church in California
Remember someone in the audience saying“ what about Jesus?’ Love your music! Saw you in Germany

Back in school when we were little kids we used to call these people shit stirrers, trying to bring down EWF there's alot of jealous people out there, beware of the third tongue

They were people. People have problems

@rashadcoes9043 1 year ago

Not sharing even a small portion of the publishing will ALWAYS blow a band up. No way you can expect the guitar player to pull up in a Ford and White lands in a helicopter. You must give up a portion for the band if you don't want a timebomb to go off

Some are leaders ,some are boss, and there are the workers. White was obviously a leader ,seeing the success of the greatest group of all. We didn't know the these problems until now.. GREATLY MANAGED TEAM.. CAN'T SATISFY EVERYONE'S THOUGHTS.

@jeffreyallen557 1 year ago

You actually used a picture of Stephanie Mills when describing Charles Stephney. You People are lame!

@Sheretta-k9j 3 weeks ago

IF any of the members felt like Maurice was a "BOSS" they could have easily walked away and formed their own band/group to make it THEIR vision like Maurice DID 🤷🏾 and probably when their are so many talented people in one group there's bound to be some frustration...HIS VISION, HIS WAY and it worked bc EWF IS and will ALWAYS BE A SHINING STAR ⭐✨✅
