The beauty of a perfectly sharpened chain tied to a high performance saw is well demonstrated here. Those chips were flying like water out of a fire hose.
First, thanks for the saw fest videos, I have enjoyed watching them. This is odd as I'm not a competitive oriented person...zero interest in professional sports. I saw the word vintage in this title and it had me anticipating some old saws from the 1960s or 1970s but I saw mostly modern style saws in the competition. If possible, in a future presentation, if you could explain the parameters for this completion for saw users ignorant about the saw racing stuff I, and I suspect others, could learn a little. Furthermore, I have been thinking as I watched your saw racing videos, the race that would interest me the most would be a half decade specific races from 1955 up. Would be cool for the contest organizers to pick 5 years and have competitors compete with personally restored saws in the date range.
