I'm amazed you didn't gave a passing mention to IGN's Cyberpunk review, where the reviewer says the game has no sidequests......while actively AVOIDING them.

Remember when an IGN reviewer only played half the campaign of Resident Evil 2: Remake, then complained that it was too short

I bet they hire game journalists to make footage for those "nobody has ever beat this level" mobile game ads

This has to made VERY clear. Not only did a 5 year old beat the cupbead tutorial before him.  A LITERAL pigeon solved the same cuphead tutorial "puzzle" irl in a shorter time than the journalist

"What if you could talk to the monsters?"

Don't tell this guy about Undertale.

Filip Miucin was a special case...not only did he get caught, but he literally dared his detractors to find more examples of his wrongdoing. They....well, they obliged, and find more they did.

The Sonic Unleashed IGN review where the guy complains about unresponsive controls as the footage shows him jump over a dash panel and straight into a pit is a classic.

This is like the guy who said he could beat Halo CE on the hardest difficulty in under two hours and it took him 4 hours on normal

Can't spell ignorance without IGN, after all.

The SpongeBob review makes me laugh because I platinumed the game with the worst stick drift imaginable, and the Game Spot reviewer couldn't figure out to stand further on a pressure plate to hit the button.

Speaking of Mass Effect, you should look into that woman that went on Fox News to say Mass Effect was hardcore porn without ever having played the game and seeming proud of the fact

Small detail for the cuphead Vs 5 year old thing — the 5 year old didn't quite beat him, but it was concerningly close considering 5 year olds can't read properly and he was clearly slowed down by enjoying the shooting mechanic too much.

0:50 Actually, he even lost to a pigeon, if you search "game journalist vs pigeon", you'll find a side by side video of him playing the tutorial and a pigeon doing a test of intelligence to reach a treat, and he lost by a large margin too.

There was a Gamespot review that gave Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn a bad review, but one of the critiques was no Mii support.

The thing about Filip Miucin is he quite literally brought it all upon himself. If i remember correctly he basically challeneged the internet by saying he only did it the one time and to go ahead and try to find more. This lead to everything he did coming under a microscope and the discovery of basically every review being plagiarized including his CV if i remember right.

This is what happens when a newbie gamer jumps into games that have controls more complicated than hold stick forward to move. I recently realized how difficult it is for someone who has never played games before to be suddenly dropped into a modern game when I tried to teach my mom how to play repo

I've said for years now, a lot of "game journalist" are just failed journalists who had no other choice but to turn to gaming, while having never touched a game controller

What I don't understand is why some people defend some game journalists' general incompetence, by saying that they "don't have enough time to learn a game" - what I ask for is a basefloor of competency. If I read a car review where the journalist gave it a crap score by saying that the car broke down, but it all happened because he didn't know how to change gear and drove in First the entire time, the whole world would rightly call it a shit review and question why someone who can't drive manual even reviews cars at all.

We'll never forget the IGN review of Sonic Unleashed, where the reviewer criticises the game for having "unfair gameplay", as the footage shows that he made Sonic literally jump over a spring and fall to his death

The easiest difficulty level in any game with multiple should always be named "Game Journalist".
