'Cousin Brucie' turns........91 on Oct.13.

Palisades Amusement Park will live FOREVER in the hearts of those who know, and in the imagination of those who wish they did.

So sad to know it's not there anymore. 😢

All that's left is the one of the greatest memories of my life. 😢😢

I was born in 1952. When I was a kid this was the place to go. It was a sad day when they shut it down.😢

This was such a great place. So much fun !!!!!!

I remember ads for this park in DC Comics during the 1960's.

I worked so many rides in the park. It was a great time and a great place.

I grew up outside Philadelphia and yet somehow, I am very aware of the songs that advertised this park. "Ride the coaster, get cool, and the waves in the pool! You'll have fun! So come on over."

When we were kids during the 60's, we would go to Palisades Park at least 2- 3 times a year.  It was the best place to spend a day with your family. We also enjoyed Freedom Land.
Thank you for the great memories.

I was born in 1960.  Grew up in Monmouth County.  During the 60s, every summer wanted to go so bad but never made it.  Still remember the TV commercials, the song as well as the ads in back of my comic books.

Today, a single day at Disney World for a family of four, not including any hotel stays, will cost at least $500.

Freddy Cannon has played a big role in keeping the memories alive.

Thanks for that . I grew up in Cliffside Park and worked there as a young teenager . Even on our days off we went to the park to play the pinball machines or just hang out. We were always there . Sigh what memories.😊

We used to go in the summer. My strongest memory is getting sick on the ferris wheel and my father buying me a root beer that settled my stomach. I think of that every time I drink one.

I’m 60 years old now. I went to the park in 1970 with my family. My father rode with me on the cyclone coaster. It terrified me. I was crying hysterically. My mother took it out on my father for having the audacity to take me on it. What a day! It’s been burned into my memory ever since. But you know what? I’d do it all over again just to be with dad

A kids tv special:"The Shari Go Round"hosted by ventriloquist/entertainer:Ms.Shari Lewis,Rock and Roll D.J.:Clay Cole,Ms.Diane Warwick and "The Desatins","Beachcomber Bill"Biery,Chuck McCann and "Officer Joe"Bolton..this fun romp was taped at Palisades Amusement Park and aired on WPIX TV Channel 11 in NYC on Tuesday night July 7,1965.

Best Days Of OUR LIVES!!! Thank you sooooooo much!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤

Great Video, Thanks for Sharing❤!

I remember looking across the Hudson River at 125th Street in Manhattan and seeing Palisades Amusement Park.  Sometimes my parents would take us to Coney Island in  Brooklyn. But when we did Really good at school We would be Treated to a day at Palisades Amusement Park.

And the hit song by Freddy "Boom Boom" Cannon, was written by a man who would go on to create TV shows like The Dating Game, The Newlywed Game, bring back Treasure Hunt in the mid 1970's and create and host The Gong Show...Chuck Barris.  And quite the Palisades connections to channel 11 back in the days.
