[Driving Column] It's been almost three years since the Civic Type R was introduced in September 2022. I've already introduced it a few times, but I'm always interested in driving it, so I'm going to cover it again. It's a shame that they still don't accept orders even though I want it, but when I drove it, I was just as impressed as when I first tried it out.
This time, I borrowed the Racing Black Package, a version with a special interior that was announced at this year's Tokyo Auto Salon.
★Main exclusive equipment for the Racing Black Package
Ultra suede dashboard and front door lining
Black lux suede seats (usually red)
Knurled decorative air conditioning control dial
Exclusive color stitching on steering wheel, seats, shift boot, center console box, and door armrests
Just place it to charge
Auto-dimming rearview mirror
etc.
Official website statement
"We are currently temporarily suspending order acceptance in order to ensure delivery of the CIVIC TYPE R to all customers who have already placed orders. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience caused to customers who are considering purchasing the car."
