I know what my opinion is worth so...but, if you're asking. Take it apart this winter, repaint(good enough), new decals and use it with pride for the next twenty or so years. You'll have the coolest lawn mower(haha) in the neighborhood. I mostly cut with a 1980ish Ariens GT16 and a 1973 Wheelhorse 18 Auto. Both with 48 inch decks. It's crazy how everyone that drives by stares at the tractors and waves at me. I think it just makes people happy to see these "old" things still looking good and working well. Thanks for what you're doing. I kinda do the same stuff but, without the camera.

I think you should restore it and use it for tractor shows which would be awesome

I am actually very new to lawn tractor repair and such but I've had a good time learning how to fix them and get them running and working properly.  I definitely have to say that I enjoyed seeing you make new tie rods!  That was pretty cool!!!  Really well done!!!

I say give it a fresh coat of paint, and let your kids pass it down to their kids. Awesome job on getting this old work horse back into service.

FYI  I have a 1968  Case 155 I plan to restore some day. Until then I use it many times a week just doing chores around my house. Its my favorite tool!

Congrats on getting that tractor running, driving and cutting!
I’d probably do a full restoration and put a high price tag on it, enjoying it until the right buyer came along.
If you think your son would appreciate it some day, maybe paint his name on it and tell him some day he’ll be old enough to drive it. Just make sure to start teaching him how to maintain it now!😉🔧👍

It's a die which cuts external threads like on bolts and rods. A tap cuts internal threads such as in nuts and other holes.
