Short and Very helpful.Problem sorted.I always thought is my suspension or rear engine mount but I changed recently all of them. You confirmed my suspicion.Thank you
Right radio thank you very much for doing this I was hunting for what our noise was on our Kia Sorento when you move the flywheel up and down and you can hear that knocking sound that is what is now happening to our Kia Sorento we also found that in 4th and 5th there is a vibration which comes through the gearbox and engine which you can feel through the car the car this morning is in the garage we hope that it won't cost as too much to have this replaced but thank you for your video as it clearly shows exactly what is happening
I just pulled my dual mass flywheel out of my 2004 Honda accord V6 6-speed. The reason I did this is because the car would rattle and grind only when it was in neutral. When the car warmed up. Or when it was put into gear it would go away completely. I thought it was my input shaft bearing. Because usually that's what's indicative of that. But when I got my transmission out. My input shaft bearing was completely fine. But my dual mass flywheel had so much play in it. I'm surprised it didn't fail earlier. So now I'm replacing the flywheel and the clutch and all of the transmission seals and the rear main seal
What many car maker DONOT specify is the Neutral/Dead zone should not be greater than 2 flywheel teeth . Most makers spec a 5--15 tooth failure point . What car makers miss out on is the dead zone free play , 2 teeth after that the the secondary flywheel should be under spring pressure .. Mild idle vibration occurs if the secondary flywheel is allowed lotsa free play . The vibration dis-appears at any rpm above idle .
Easy way to diagnose BEFORE pulling the gearbox off. Accelerate in 1st gear to about half revs, lift off the throttle pedal and depress the clutch at the same time, fairly sharply. If theres a clatter/rattle/knocking sound, or vibration through the bulkhead, suspect your DMF. Check your driveshafts/propshaft first, but more than likely the DMF is failing. 🤙🏻
My clutch is dragging slightly on my giulietta 1.6jtdm unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a solid flywheel available. I completely agree with you fitting a solid flywheel isn't a big deal regarding drivability.
Hello, my car shakes when I take off in first gear, there is no rattle or vibration when idling This happens only when car is hot, on cold engine clutch is perfect
