987.1 Boxster base owner here. 5 speed. Great street car. Surprisingly easy to work on. Great parts and DIY support. Most parts are reasonably priced. Sounds great, handles great, quick enough and you can wind it out with out worrying about being arrested. It just takes a while to find one that’s not grey or black.

In 2020 I bought a 2007 Boxster off of cars and bids on a whim. Drove it from Cleveland Ohio to Texas via the Tail of the Dragon. Had so much fun and fell in love with the mid engine Porsche Platform. As soon as I got home I sold my 911 and Ferrari and bought a 2021 Spyder. Now, going on 6 years later i've had a 2007 Boxster, 2021 Spyder, 2013 Boxster S, and a 2015 Boxster GTS. Love love love the mid engine platform. Best drivers car out there.

I got 187k miles on my 986 boxster. I had it for about 20 years and still enjoying every second in it.

Because of Doug’s opinion, I bought a 986 Boxster for $8000 back in summer of 2024. Have loved every second of it, and hasn’t needed a single service in the last 11,000 miles.

My first Porsche was a manual 986 base that I bought in 2017 for $5750.

Excellent introduction to the Porsche world. Helped me to learn to work on cars.

Porsche owner/collector/enthusiast for 25+ years. After owning 7 Porsches there is the "if you know, you know" car enthusiast and the Porsche 986 Boxster through a hard canyon run is grins and smiles the entire time. Hard to beat the experience. The newer cars may be faster, but the adrenaline and fun level is very high in the 986. People tend to want to equate newer = better , but not so with many car brands. The Boxster was just that good when it first came out.

I have an 01 986 S and a 2016 GT4, both amazing cars in their own way, but one of the first things I noticed when driving my GT4 was the similarities with the 01 Boxster. The Porsche DNA runs deep and you really can’t go wrong in the line up.

The 986 Boxster just gets better looking as they age, there's something about the purity of line directly referencing the original concept car.
I've always loved the look of my 986S. For a 22year old car it went pretty well up the Stelvio pass a couple of weeks ago too.

It’s crazy to think as a kid when the Boxster came out it was thought of as a “can’t afford a real Porsche” I always liked the look and concept. Glad to see folks appreciate them more now

I had a base 981 Boxster for 3 years, and it was so much fun. I live in a part of the US that has mild winters, and I enjoyed it year-round. The handling and steering were hard to fault. This looks like a great 986, and I hope that it goes to someone who loves it.
