I thought I knew how to pronounce all these town names.  But I've learnt 10 new names today.

I towed a caravan, with wife, north through Tennant Creek in 2021. Her mother,  in a nursing home, was badly off and finally,  we had good reception. I had been warned to just keep driving, don't stop and all would be good but I stopped anyway and within 5 minutes, trouble from "locals". We took off again and fortunately were not pursued. Tennant Creek and similar bad times at Alice Springs are why I will never go that way again.

This bloke is an Aussie and he knows the right way to say place names ,        so          why is he saying them ALL W RING?¿????????

Governments have their heads up their arses, black ball the bad places where
you can't park your truck & safety take a rest. Especially that mining company place that will not allow trucks to be parked behind locked gates. Sadly this will not change much or at all in the next 100 years. Because our federal government is aiding the wrong companies.

After living in the Isa, you get to know the town not to stop in. Also, I didn't know I was pronouncing  all the towns wrong

Each and every word said is real pain for all in this industry wanna serve food & living things to everyone to survive

Made the mistake and stopped at Willcania  years ago and wore a coke bottle through the drivers window. It ain’t a pleasure driving with a smashed door window, especially when it starts to rain.

No way would I ever take a load to communities that demand one acquire a permit to enter. Let them service themselves.
Wilcannia was known as a dodgy town over 40 years ago when I worked along the Darling River.

We should talk about Port Botany and the issues faced by Linehaul drivers if or when they get caught with nowhere to park or rest

The truckies should get all the support that they can get by companies to do the job that everyone need to keep people and towns running,with out them,what would we be,support all truckies in every way 👍

I think of Halls Creek ( 8:04 ), Western Australia as having seen, very much like Gary, Indiana, better days (even if some of the problems are very different after why those towns have declined over the years).

Every motorist should heed this worthwhile information before planning any road trip that would include those 10 towns. Well explains why one will encounter increased costs and limited availability of essential items. These underlying risk/factors need to be addressed to ensure that these outback towns remain liveable for both residents and travellers.

The problem is that the Australian Trucking Industry is made up of Independent Operators competing against each other for work. That means each operator has to absorb costs and risk. At least an employee would have guaranteed hourly wages and not have to pay for fuel, damages, wear and tear of the truck. It also means that each operator is replaceable. If the transport was performed by large companies with employees, then the company would have the power to say NO to loads where the conditions were not suitable for their drivers or there is a risk of the truck being stuck by flood or bad road conditions. A large trucking company refusing to deliver loads delivers a louder message than a replaceable Operator can.

I've lived and worked in many, MANY outback towns over the past 50+ years ..... I AM SURPRISED YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW TO PRONOUNCE TOWN NAMES ?????????:hand-pink-waving::hand-pink-waving::hand-pink-waving:
