Half the process of being an adult is realizing things about yourself, looking back at your childhood and going "well that explains that"

Like, so that's why I kept having these fantasies of a self-insert lesbian woman being incredibly rich and successful

I had a Trans "phase" when I was 12 and eventually repressed that side of me - 12 years later I realized that I am Trans and now dysphoria is hitting like a freight train... So yeah, still cis though :3

For me, as a trans man, when I was in the girls bathroom as a kid, it felt like I was being creepy,and my friend had a crush on this kid who I didn't realize at the time, but I was secretly jealous of. Because he looked like the kind of boy I wanted to be.

"Signs"
- I always disliked cutting my hair
- hated shopping for news clothes
- would interact more with girls than boys
- even though I never told anyone, I would be jealous of girls being able to use pretty clothes while men would have generic bs
- I was very progressive since young and only got more progressive as I learned and unlearned new things. What a great ally :3
- I felt envious of lesbians and queer women
- always got uncomfortable when needing to check my gender in papers
- always felt more comfortable playing female characters

I think that's it, at least the significant things I remember.

When I was a young teen I read a book about a kid who licked his elbow and began turning into a girl and then licked his elbow again and got turned back and I spent the rest of that night trying to lick my elbow and cried myself to sleep because I couldn't
AND IT WAS STILL LIKE 5-6 YEARS BEFORE MY EGG CRACKED

I just realized my egg cracked before it actually cracked. Like I didn't want to be a man, so I stopped identifying with it at all, but I never told myself I was trans until months later. It is like I cracked, stuck out my legs, and realized I didn't fit through the hole in my egg, and just stayed in my egg for a little bit.

one of my signs was trying to reject ALL of masculinity, in the name of escaping TOXIC masculinity. i equated "having masculine traits" with putting up a facade

I'm a femboy, so the playing as a woman in video games is so real. In most games where I have the choice I will always play a woman. Why? The outfits, hair and makeup are SO much better than what male characters get.

In Cyberpunk specifically, a game where most customizable options are shared between genders (awesome btw), I had one playthrough as a MtF V (V being the player character's name for those who don't know) and that was by far my favorite run. She was my ultimate character and I spent probably way too long making outfits and changing her whole aesthetic. She's lowkey who I want to be in real life. Minus the whole tragic circumstances leading to something, merc lifestyle bit... she can keep that lol.

I usually play female characters for two reasons; one, I like the sound of women’s voices, and two, I just kinda intrinsically trust women more than men, so I feel more comfortable in the “company” of a female character.

Peeing while sitting is also just the hygienic choice. If someone pees standing up in their own house thats just gross. It's just like putting the seat down before you flush
That said, I do it for dysphoria reasons too, but its nice how easy it is to justify

Shy, this was fascinating to listen to - I relate to the bit about haircuts, but not because I wanted long hair, just because I hated getting my hair cut every time. It was a bit of a battle for my mother to get me to sit still for long enough! And the being uncomfortable around groups of men - yeah, me too. I always felt out of place when certain conversations happened. (I should declare here that I am not trans, just someone who supports those who are.)

I was never stereotypically girly growing up, but I did take interest in things like "girly" media (most notably MLP:FiM) and girls' clothes. But I ended up repressing those feelings because "it didn't fit my stereotype" and because "I'm a boy and it's just how things are."

I didn't even know what transgender was at the time, I learned about it at ~13 to 14 years old and felt kind of identified, but ended up repressing it again until about 2 years ago. And even now I'm still trying to figure myself out.

The video game character thing cracked my egg. The comic "Thinking" by paxiti came across my Twitter feed with a trans woman posting it and talking about eggs as some joke for other trans women. I was like "oh shit, that's me" and kinda panicked and spent 3 whole days on r/egg_irl figuring things out. By day 3 it was too much and a desperately messages my trans friend to get her help and thoughts (she pointed out I already did some of the stuff she was going to suggest for several years) and that's where things began. Now I'm 2+ years down that road and 11 months on HRT. It finally feels like my life is going in the right direction.

I dreamed of being girl ever since I remember, but I think I was like "well too bad I am male guess I have to live as boy". I was always pretty isolated from people and didn't like sport etc. I was playing games alot (I still do). I secretly crossdressed for YEARS in my teens before I realized i was trans and not a weird dude.

There are two main things that I look back on and go like “ohhhhhhhh”. I got Xbox live for the first time when I was around 12, and this was before my voice dropped. So when people kept accidentally thinking I was a woman on voice chat I just kinda played into it. I had so much fun with it, to the point I even went by a girls name when I was online. The egg part is that it’s not like I was pranking people, I was literally just talking to people except I didn’t introduce myself as a boy. Another one is this one time when I was a little younger that the other instance, probably around 10, I had an interesting conversation with my mom. Apparently I went up to her (completely unprompted) and basically just said “I really wish I was a girl”. She was so confused and kept asking me why and I apparently just kept saying, “idk I just feel like I’d be happier with it”. Those are probably my main egg moments when I look back on it lol.
