I'm so glad you got The Thorn naturally. It's such a beautiful ending, so many emotions in it

2:17:00 You weren't forced to betray her in a narrative sense. You were only blocked from saving her because it was a path you had taken before. It's not intended to feel forced.

It doesn't matter how many times I play this or watch other people play this; anytime the Entity shows up I start to tear up. They did such a good job making the contrast between the tension of the rest of the game and the gentleness of moments in the Long Quiet.

You mistook banner on the wall last time, as a mirror still being there.

The Thorn is definitely one of my favorite version of the princess, and I'm so glad you got to experience her route

What a unique collection of vessels for your first play-through. I appreciate you checking this out and glad you’re enjoying it!

1:00:00 you're in chapter 1, chapter 1 only ever has the voice of the hero, the long quiet erases your memory, which is why you go back to chapter 1

Gosh, I love the philosophical explorations in this game.

It's so fun to see people experience this game, can't wait for the final part

the thorn is such a beautiful Route & Princess. I’m glad you got to see her on your first playthrough, she’s truly something special

Woo, we get last vessel next, yay! I'm excited to see what you think of whatever ending you get.

And then I'm excited to see the 12 more videos after when you go looking for more endings and new princesses.

So... Going to call it now.
I really expect the next vessel to be some form of the Prisoner.
Probably patient one.

The thorn really is one of the best chapters imo

Awww. Thorn is really the sweetest of the pre-pristine-cut-dlc princesses.

It'll be very interesting to see how this concludes.

I never noticed whrn you’re “losing yourself” in the stranger, your claw pointer turns into almost a bird head which is pretty interesting since you’re hearing the “verge of the long quite” tune at the same time.

I think one of my favorite things about this game is how the plural community took it and put this game under a microscope. It is very plural when you look at it. With your character creating a new facet every time they die (a traumatic experience.) Even the Princess can be seen in a new light through this angle with her shifting to take new forms with different personalities depending on her environment. I don't think the game was made to be viewed this way. But it's still fascinating to see how a community can view art differently than someone outside that community

The verb used for the princess's voice changes in every chapter. That and the "What do you think of this vessel?" dialogue choice are some of my favorite identifiers for the different versions of thr princess. The ch.1 princess voice carries up the stairs, but the Nightmare's voice prances. The Stranger drags up the stairs, Thorn hobbles and so on.

58:58 “She can make you forget, if only you believe her to be able to.”

The implication seems to be that the Voices have something to do with our memories of previous loops—but in order to start over, our memory must be completely erased.

51:54 I think this would be better translated to something like. "I don't have a preference for what you bring me. And I wouldn't want to pressure you to bring me something specific." or something like that, the entity has no preference, and it doesn't want to ruin the relationship between the two of you by giving you a task or shouldering their needs beyond what is already required of you. The vessels would no longer be "gifts" they would be "chores".

I love hearing your analyses! Not enough people talk about their interpretation of the relationship metaphor - too few people notice it imo - and you have so many insightful and creative intepretations!

Also I've never, in my literal thousands of hours of watching people play this game, heard anyone talk about the "confidence" of the pencil strokes. What a fascinating and illuminating perspective!
