We also have metal music for kids in Finland: Hevisaurus.

It's impossible to count how many genres/subgenres metal music has. Over 100 for sure 😅

as a Finn myself, Nightwish is just SO iconic to me. their songs are just incredible on another level.

Folk metal is a subgenre of metal. Often the songs are about  folklore, mythology etc. and they take influence in ethnic or world music, sometimes adding traditional instruments in the mix.

Btw... Many people forget the influence of Hanoi Rocks on the Finnish hard rock and metal genre...

American Folk music like Bob Dylan is American folk music. Other countries have different folk music. You could think of folk music as "traditional music of the people of a nation". What makes Finntroll folk/black metal is their use of traditional nordic instruments in their music and rhythms & melodies inspired by traditional Nordic folk music.

As a finn, I don't know what the maker of the list was smoking 😂😂😂

Indeed we have Christmas metal! A group of heavy rock / metal musicians gather for a tour yearly to perform traditional Christmas song as heavy versions. I believe you have already checked out some Heavy Christmas songs..?

Check out Amorphis "The Bee" or "Silver Bride"

2:05 Folk metal bands usually combine metal music and traditional folk music by using keyboards and such and the songs are usually about mythology (Trolls in Finntroll's case), but some bands do it with real folk instruments as well

In Finland we have most metalbands/capita❤🇫🇮😊

Hello there! I´m glad you are here. But have you ver been reacting to Finnish metal band called Wintersun? If not you should, it´s the band that gave Kai Hahto to Nightwish and when Marko left NW,
Jukka the basss came in. So today there is two members from Wintersun in Nightwish. "Time", or "Sons of Winter and Sun" from Sonic Pump Studios rehearsals of Wintersun, you loose a lot ultra talented music
if not to react them. Anyway thanks for this one. Greets from Finland and your new subscriber. Take care.

Yes, we turn everything into metal :D We are good at that.

I remember seeing Apocalyptica before they had released their debut. Apocalyptica Plays Metallica by Four Cellos.
Might've even been their first gig for all I know.
They just had four cellos on stage and those were the only instruments, not even a singer, and it was MIND BLOWING!
And it kicked serious ass and sounded so very deep and heavy and that made me wonder if the sound and feeling was similar during the olden days hundreds of years ago during the time of those huge classical composers!

Apocalyptica and Sonata Arctica deserve to be on that list. 🤘🔥 But I would've also added Charon (because no other voice in Finland compares to JP Leppäluoto) and Dark Sarah.

Nightwish, Amorphis,Stratovarius, Apocalyptica, Insomnium, Sonata Arctica,Korpiklaani,Ensiferum,Dark Sarah,Windersun,Dark Element, Shallow the sun, Battle Beast, Beast in black, Omnium Gatherum,Finntoll,Marco Hietala, Tarja Turunen,
Lordi,Him, Children of bottom and Auri!!!
My eighty percent of my budget goes to... Finland 😂!!!
I love Finnish metal bands,in my top three loving bands two are from Finland Nightwish and Amorphis and the third is from a neighbour country Sweden called Therion!!!

I love Apocalyptica. I mean they dont have a singer. They are classical heavy metal. Sure they have sometimes people featuring their songs from different groups/artists who sing.

As a Finn, personal top list (in no specific order): Amorphis, Insomnium, Wintersun, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Kneel Before The Death, Omnium Gatherum, Sentenced, To/Die/For, Bloodred Hourglass, Before The Dawn, myGrain, Entwine, Atlas.

Love your videos❤❤

You could check out the Finnish movie Hevi reissu or "Heavy Trip" (2018, with English subtitles). It is so funny!
