Polaris has dominated the Utility segment ever since the release of the 3/4-ton Ranger XD1500. But this year, Can-Am came out swinging with an all-new generation of Defender, the HD11. So how do they compare? While we could sit around and talk towing/hauling, we decided to have a bit of fun and take both utes to Windrock Park for some Spring mudding. Let's bury these things and see which one comes out on top!

I was just at the mud runs last weekend and I had people asking me why am I not muddy I said I can’t get muddy I’m in a defender with a cab 😂

Why did you even mention the price without mentioning the price of a four-door machine compared to a four-door machine?

from someone that has over 50 hrs of hard testing both machines with aftermarket long travels and bigger tires. HD11 hands down is the better machine! The trans in the 1500 sucks! Also have 2 people switch from hd10 to 1500 that hated it and when back to can am with hd11 and love it

I’m on the fence I have a few years still with the rmax before I upgrade but I think I would go maybe the Polaris expedition XP or ranger northstar 1000 or can am hd 11 I don’t care for the 1500 with no L range I have rode in one rides awesome comfortable and smooth and quiet in cab and seals up nice but felt like a dog with four guys in 4x4 on a steep muddy hill just didn’t seam to go great imo on steep slow terrain. I wouldn’t buy due to no L for my area of rocks and hills.

I really don’t feel these 2 are that comparable. You should have compared the normal Ranger. To the defender. There not really close in price and or functions either. And the Polaris only goes like 54 mph

So funny watching test channels wear helmets in fully enclosed machines... 😂😂😂... Like people who wear a mask in their car. Yes i know they ask you to wear it there.

The hd11 is on par with the ranger Northstar. The 1500 is far better in almost every way possible. I'm not even a polaris guy and one ride in each will tell you everything
