The cover art for Princess Stories is so neat to me because they break the "Disney Princesses can be seen together but not actually interact with one another in promotional material" rule that was pretty prevalent in Disney Princess merchandising until Ralph Breaks the Internet finally gave into the crossover fan service and there's been an increase of official Disney Princesses physically interacting with each other in promo art ever since.

Not many know, but Gabriella in the Little Mermaid episode “Wish Upon A Starfish” was based on a real child named Gabriella Bommino. She was a deaf girl who loved the Little Mermaid franchise, her parents saying she would watch the movie 3-4 times a day. She also watched some of the show, but unfortunately passed from her fight with leukemia in its first season. The episode was a tribute to her from the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Gabriella’s design was for her parents to see what she would’ve looked like as a teenager. It’s very bittersweet, it’s sad she didn’t get a chance to watch herself on TV but still got to enjoy her parties and gifts about the Little Mermaid.

I’m not sure the reason why Disney doesn’t use Gabriella again if it’s because it’s based on a real child or not. But the episode was a really nice representation of a deaf person but a good memory for her parents to look back on and having Gabriella’s memory immortalized in her favorite cartoon.

This was the Disney Princess era I grew up with.

While the Disney Princess stories volumes collection might not have the same cinematic quality as the classic films, it serves its purpose well by providing engaging, age-appropriate stories for a younger audience as they focus on positive values like friendship and inner beauty, along with the episodic nature that caters to shorter attention spans, makes these stories a worthwhile option for parents. However, the use of recycled animation and storyboard-style storytelling for certain segments is a valid point that potential buyers should be aware of.

My older cousin has 2 volumes of this series, so glad people are remembering the obscure Disney DVDs during the 2000s decade.

I thought I made these up as a kid LOL Glad to see it actually exists.

this is so funny because I owned Volume 3 of these as a kid and I still VIVIDLY remember Ariel and Jasmine's segments (Sebastian's Sound of Laughter song still regularly gets stuck in my head and I haven't watched that episode in YEARS*) but I had absolutely *ZERO memory of Cinderella's segment, or that she even had a segment at all 😭

I had Volume 1 growing up. Ariel’s story definitely was my favorite. I remember wanting to have the cgi bedroom shown in the menu, and to also visit the castle that got displayed in the Enchanted Tales menu. Man. Growing up with princess stuff really made me feel curious and excited. It’s a shame newer generations won’t be able to have the same experience I had.

I had the first volume growing up, and two of my childhood friends had the second and third separately. As a kid whom grew up into being partially deaf by 5, Gabriella was such a joy I didn’t know I needed.

DUDE I REMEMBER THESE DVDS 🩷🩷🩷🩷

Genuinely something that always stuck with me from this dvd even as a 23 year old was from the primcess quiz. The basic scenario was that if youre given a gift by someone in person and you thank them for it, you dont have to then send them a message thanking them for it again. So many times other people have told me to send thank you texts to people for gifts when ive already thanked them for it, but i genuinely use this dvd to remember that its redundant to do that. Also the tip that if you come across a group of friends celebrating a birthday you werent aware of, you shouldnt try to join them or scramble to get a gift. Just say "oh i didnt know sorry" wish them happy birthday and continue with your day. Kind of specific scenarios, but i keep finding myself remembering those tips

Wow, Disney really ripped little girls off by not animating the Cinderella and Belle stories in Vol one 😅. At the very least, if they want to do a picture book presentation instead of an animation, Disney should have commissioned some original artwork instead of a glorified clip show. The toyline raked in so much money so the cheapness is just infuriating 😮‍💨

I remember one of these dvds

They were essentially like those complication dvds of kids shows and that

Good memories

Ah the feels of nostalgia, I used to have that Disney Princess Stories DVD Volume 2 Tales of Friendship and it was so good to watch. The Disney Princesses have always been one of my favorite childhood memories as a kid and I always loved being a princess. So thank you so much @SailorGuardianHope! For bringing me those good old memories back in my childhood life. I really hope that you keep your channel going and bring out to not only you and others as well. Thank you.^^ 😊😘❤️🩷

I want to a video of the princess party.

Oh my gosh those little hearts are imprinted in my memory forever

1:14 same because like it’s obvious they wanted Mulan and Esme for representation yet they underutilized them. Also a shame because hanfus are very beautiful and Mulan is the only representation for east and southeast Asians kids at the time (until Raya I guess) and queer kids

11:41 poor Aurora... well atleast we now get her in Disney Dreamlight valley.

i only ever grew up with the princess sing-along-songs dvds, but i always wanted this series as a kid. it's nice to see someone reviewing them!! this video is honestly so cozy, like a warm blanket after a long day :3

watching this makes me want to cry it brings back so much memories of a simpler time😢
