If you put him next to three live people, will he come back?

May he rest in peace.

RIP a legend.

Guess due to social distancing, he had less than 2 neighbors.

When I saw the news of his passing I wondered if you'd post a tribute video. The videos you made with him were wonderful and surely spread the word of his brilliance to a new audience. Rest in peace.

Sad news, John Horton Conway was a great inspiration and it seems a fun person to be around. Quite happy we got a couple numberphile videos with him and Conway and Gardner really brought math fun and games to the masses. We could really play around with maths. Maybe he got over the game of life. He will be missed. RIP

Rest in Peace Mr Conway, you inspired me beyond explanation.

There is a right way and a wrong way. Then there is a conway.

John Conway is the reason I’m working in my career right now. The first iOS app I wrote was a cellular automata. It got me my first job and now, 12 years later, I’m still working as a developer.

Was gutted to hear this news but I love that you’ve put together this podcast in tribute to him.

Thanks Brady

I studied his works in university many years ago. Sad I never got to meet him. May he rest in peace. :(

A wonderful celebration of a life well lived. Thank you Brady.

The "glider", by the way, was invented by the great chess master Richard Kenneth GUY (1917-2020). He insisted on being an amateur mathematician, despite his great discoveries.

And thus, the Game of Life has come to an end. Rest In Peace, John Conway, you will be missed.

Oh goodness. I’m in shock. I loved this man.
Condolences to the family.

My impression has always been that Conway polyhedron notation was one of his most important contributions, more so than the game of life.

I am not going to listen to the podcast.
I just want to say i immediately knew why John Horton Conway died. The first thing that came to mind was Corona A.K.A Covid-19.
Sad because only about one in five die from Covid-19 at his age. But i suppose the age coupled with prior health problems was simply too much for the man.

I will always remember him through Game of Life, a true masterpiece.

This one got me teared up. I remember playing the game of life on Amiga 500 in the early 90's and not understanding much of it back then. It still made a lasting impression and has since been great influence in my thinking. Seems like it might become more and more important concept in future.
