Thank you for your perspective. The only issue is that I followed this advice of having my own platform, ordered hundreds of my book and now they are all sitting in my house not selling but the ones I posted on KDP are selling because it is more important to learn how to bring customers and build an audience as a person nobody knows. In my case I was trying to do it on social media but with two small kids it burned me out so much. I guess it depends on the person and their situation. I don’t do any KDP marketing and I get some sales not many but at least Im not trying to create content when I know I can’t be consistent.

I sell my books for way more than 9.99 and I get 70%. The rule you're talking about only aplies to ebooks. About the rest I agree with your perspective, but it's important to mention that for many people buying on a reliable platform like Amazon makes all the difference, plus shipping times, etc, so unless you are already established as an influencer I wouldn't stop with kdp.

Build a following first if you are going this route. If you're starting from zero, it's gonna be a grind. And it may wreck you. So temper your expectations.

I love how you don't rehash tired tips. I appreciate your fresh perspectives.

I have a few books on kdp and I simply add a QR code that brings customers into my fully controlled eco system. Never put all of your eggs in one basket ❤❤🎉🎉🎉😊

Unrelated but I appreciate a sister rocking their natural hair. That’s the self love we need. Apart from that keep the content and the gems coming.

I cracked up when your video appeared within a few hours, and I haven’t been on YouTube the whole time😂😂. I actually did my first book through create space before KDP purchased it. I actually marketed my book myself , I like the fact that I was able to purchase several copies so that I could sell at events.

I think you have a very good niche. I most definitely will subscribe, however, I’m 64 and a new grandmother, retire, retired and taking my skills to entrepreneurship again. Noticed I said it again.😂

Looking forward to viewing ❤

This is great information. I strongly support digital book sales. I think this will eventually be the way most authors sell their ebooks. Thank you.

Thankyou for this amazing fresh perspective! Wasn’t aware of this at all. You make a lot of sense but I think for a beginner having both platforms is a better way. Need more videos like this👌

Thank you so much for sharing your expertise. I have had my books on Amazon for year and still making them. I am grateful to the several friends who have bought but have not gotten much in sales. I do have all on ebook do you teach step by step how to start launch and consistently scale without joining a mentorship etc. This is my greatest struggle...people will talk and show you some detail but not all the step by step how tos and stay with you until results are accomplished. I can teach people how to outline write and publish but the greatest challenge is marketing. I have a small book store in my shop. However, I really need to get this message out.
