Wow, is this really all for this price?!

If you've ever wondered what a farm shop is really like, a place you'd want to visit if you moved to the countryside, you might be a little surprised.

This time, I visited a farm shop in Sagae, Yamagata, that's a favorite among locals, for the first time.

I was thrilled by the real "country prices" and generous portions, which are different from roadside station and tourist prices!

Plums, peaches, tomatoes, eggplant, corn...
Wow, and all that for this price?! I found myself saying it over and over again.

The pizza and gelato available on the spot were also incredibly delicious, confirming that skipping breakfast was the right decision.

And when I got home, I made some "real yakisoba" using the fresh vegetables and meat I'd just bought.

Crunchy cabbage, jiggly wood ear mushrooms, and fragrant Yamagata pork...it was so delicious I couldn't help but slurp it down in silence.

"Maybe I can't buy it at the supermarket anymore..."

What is this shocking "food paradise" that makes you feel that way?

Watch as if you're peeking into the locals' shopping and cooking routines!

🏡 About us, the Hiyokko couple

We inherited the vacant house of our late grandparents in Yamagata and moved there.

It's an old folk house, built 250 years ago during the Edo period, passed down through generations...

Even though it has no air conditioning and very weak shower pressure,
we're enjoying our first rural experience!

・Living in an old folk house & renovating
・Rural life & gourmet food
・Travel vlog

And more, we'll be sharing our daily experiences.

I hope you'll continue to watch the "Hiyokko Couple" grow!
