I think it's great that you are starting to look into religion. I found God in a similar way about 10 years ago when I was your age and never regretted it.
Also I can only encourage you to learn how to crochet, it's such a satisfying hobby and it really makes you happy - even in a double sense, because you can bring so much joy to those you give something to. :)
