🎙️ ABOUT POD MAHAL

Hi, I'm Misbah Haque 👋🏽

In 2016, I started podcasting from my childhood bedroom with no audience or credibility.

Within a year, I landed my dream job in the Bay Area, and produced and co-hosted a show that went on to do over 1M downloads.

There are many factors to how I did it, but it all comes down to one of my core beliefs:

Why wait to be invited to someone else’s table?

Build your own and people will pull up a chair.

In 2020, I founded Pod Mahal on a mission to help others build a body of work through podcasting.

I also host my podcast, Habit Chess, where I share stories, mental models and principles on the craft of getting better at anything.

This is the most detailed comparison I've found so far

Just locked in Riverside Pro annual using your PODMAHAL code - thanks for the most comprehensive comparison I found anywhere. Your 15-category breakdown after 5 years of real use was exactly what I needed as someone running a photography business and launching YouTube content. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The brand kit presets point was clutch - I'm producing 5+ videos/month across multiple brands and that alone will save me hours. Also your insight on ease of use mattering more than features for consistency hit home - 90% of podcasts don't make it past episode 7 because of editing friction, not lack of features. 👍

One question: I'm doing multi-cam work (main camera + Pocket3 B-roll + iPhone clips). You mentioned Riverside's multi-track is limited compared to Descript. In your experience, at what point does Riverside's basic multi-cam become a real bottleneck vs just "good enough" for most creators?

Appreciate the honest, no-BS breakdown. Earned the affiliate. 🏆

How good is riverside this days in terms of transcription bass cutting and other languages than English like German for transcription and cutting and polish

@ksbalaji1287 8 months ago

Thanks, Bud. That was most helpful. Clear as a bell.

Which one produces a higher quality transcript?

Descript was better than Riverside, but how about the refreshed Descript vs Riverside 2.0 with proper editing tools? Is Descript still bulky and unable to perform the remote recordings?

The only thing stopping me from moving to Riverside is their AI T&Cs. Do they use my content to train their AI? Yes/No. I've asked that question everywhere and can never seem to get a straight answer. Descript categorically says no. It really shouldn't be that hard.

You do a comparison between an recording, edting, streaming and webinartool Riverside with an editor, simple recording tool like Descirpt. You better add Squadcast also in your comparison. Riverside linking to Premiere Pro only available in business plan and cost about 490 dollars for starting level. Pitty with all those camparisons that they are not objectively but mostly sponsored or they get payed if people click on the discount link under the video.

The only thing holding me back from switching from Descript to Riverside is the automatic multicam, it's awesome. I've also had a few instances of recordings being lost and the Descript team was great in helping me get access to it.

Are there any issues in riverside with video and audio sync if you record for long periods?

Great video bro !! but could you drink some water or juice before start talking ?? :) Your voice is crackling , "clunky" as you might say :) ... kinda sound "boring" for a long video !! just a lil' tip... Feels like you deserve more viewers / followers since u got good info ! That's all ! Otherthan that great setup & super informational & helpful ! many many thanks !
