UNGRATEFUL Kids IGNORE Grandpa On THANKSGIVING

Illumeably

When a family gathers for Thanksgiving, the kids are too wrapped up in their own worlds to notice the one person who needs them most. What starts as a normal holiday quickly reveals how far they’ve drifted from gratitude, love, and each other—until a shocking moment forces everyone to confront what really matters.

My grandpas been in heaven for 11 years now. My dad was never in my life, so my papa (what I called my grandpa) was really the only male figure I had in my life. I would legit give anything just to spend five more minutes with him. I can’t even imagine what I’d be willing to do to spend another thanksgiving with him. How this family treated their grandpa is sad. You gotta appreciate your family while you have them because they’re not going to be here forever. My grandpa passed away suddenly, like he just got sick and before me and my family knew it, he was gone. You never know how long we have left because no matter what we do or how much money we have, it’s just material. Material wealth comes into this world with purpose and power, but when it leaves, it’s nothing. But family is the other way around.

This is why you should always appreciate your own family

Both grandparents & parents shouldn't be ignored on holidays.

This will be my first Thanksgiving without my mother. She passed away in June due to Endometrial cancer stage 4. She was always in charge of cooking the dinner and the only person I could go to for advice. She was only 65. I wish she held on longer

This just goes to show you that you don’t know what you got until it’s gone. Appreciate the loved ones you still have as well as the time you have with them while they’re still with you

Never take your family for granted, you never know when they'll be gone. And I know what loss is like, I lost my cousin this year, though he was sick for a good while and I lost my grandmas in 2006 and 2023.

They say “They only love you when you’re gone.”

I lost my grandfather and favorite uncle (on my dad’s side) 7 years ago…I still hate it and I still cry this very day. Love your family, because they’ll always be there for you.
