Ml is a real scum bag that enabled the murder of his wife and son. He was in fact an accomplice in her murder. He knew sfl was a villain, but during the kidnapping was made ti choose between ogfl and sfl. He still chose sfl in the kidnapping scene, leaving og fl to be blown up the og story. For the crime of him not liking her. What a complete shit of shit. Then his son is killed by sfl shortly afterwards.

And didnt punish the murderer afterwards, as sfl is said to have lived at the end in fls thoughts.

While fl is alive, treats her less than human.
Fl and son have a diet of rotting pig slop, when they are even allowed to eat
Locks fl up without food but also his innocent son without food, never checks on them, allows them to be mocked and insulted as a pig and pig son, doesn't get medical care for his son who is poisoned, he doesn't know he is poisoned but maybe he would id he got him proper medical care, knows sfl is a dangerous person but allows her to physically and emotionally abuse his wife and child. He doesn't have anyone watching her or protecting his family. (Which if the story wants us to believe he is keeping her around to investigate her identity, not having anyone watching her is a pretty shit way to do that). They just want ml to have scum bag behavior and give the stupidest justification for his behavior. Is he incompetent, dumb, or both? Both is what I suspect.

at 58:55 he gave orders to his men to protect fl.
But when he didnt like og fl, allowed her to be abused, insulted, then murdered without justice. Proving he could have done that all along, but didnt, because he didnt care. Even if he didnt like og fl for being fat and depressed, he shouldn't have put her in a situation where she is in danger. And he definitely shouldn't have put his son in danger. Even if he hated og fl(which the story gave no good justification for, besides fat, depressed, always sleeping or eating), he should at least care about his son. But even he doesn't get a shred of attention, affection, or care until fl cures his poison and becomes likable to ml.

There are so many ways he is an unfit husband and father. She isn't worth reconciling with and fl should have divorced him. Og fl did nothing but get depression and it was enough for ml to allow everyone to hurt her. And to kill her and her son. His son too.

Fl should have shot him for real.

Its not a very good drama. Mostly just rage bait.

idk if the Republican Era setting is an excuse to write a real dog jerk ML character, but he is neither a good husband or father and is an unlikeable a-hole. Also, I do wish these shows would stop treating being overweight/obese in the most superficial way possible. It's always the case that being "fat" means you deserve to be bullied and you absolutely MUST lose weight to find happiness and romance.
