Minute 4 watching Jaws in the Expanded Jaws Universe (EJU).

Chrissie's final moments of life and what exactly is happening below the surface. Listener question regarding sunrise or sunset and a closer look at the map of Amity Island to show a true sunrise on this June 27, 1974.

A closer look at the sheer accomplishment by Susan Backlinie during this opening to Jaws. Is this the greatest stunt performance in the history of cinema? Another parallel between Spielberg and Hitchcock's The Birds is discovered.

I always thought she was saying, "Oh, my god! Oh, god! why are you panicking" or "you got to stop panicking"

Fantastic episode. Love the concept of the ocean being a borderland between life and death and Quint existing there- just clarifies so much about him. I hope we find out more about Chrissie's life someday. I find her endlessly fascinating.

I wish I could have illustrated the Map of Amity for you, going off all of your Data points.
It works though

Really enjoying this minute by minute analysis of Jaws. Two points/questions: there is a photo of Chrissie scene where it looks like the tip of the sharks snout is visable, yet I can't see it in the film? Can you talk about that please? Also on the Amity map, the pond is near South Beach but should be near Amity Town Beach (so called on Mrs Kintners reward poster.) State Beach on Martha's Vineyard. The Chrissie beach is different from the Kintner and 4th July beach no? Sorry to be so nerdy.

Another great one thanks Ryan , unfortunately I’ve not been able to attend the Robert shaw event this time but my ORCA was there. Safe trip home

For those of us who have an audiobook or even those of us who don't, is there any way we can purchase some of the maps that are in the other the actual books? I love love love love love the audiobook thank you😊😊

Notice Cassidy's leg is bent into the shape of a shark's dorsal fin?

I love how similar Amity is to MVinyard.
Gay Head being the far West at lands end.
(I refuse to call it “Aquinna”.) 😂

Ryan - I think I heard on Let's Talk Jaws that the Chrissie scene was shot on two locations - a private beach was required for the nude scene, and a different beach for the pulling back and forth. I'd love if if you could elaborate on the locations.

Don't abandon me is what she said

While a great, great scene, it is not even in the top 20 all-time stunt performances in movie history. Have you ever watched Jackie Chan in Police Story? Harrison Ford in the opening scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark? Several of Tom Cruise's stunts in the Mission: Impossible series? Zoe Bell in Deathproof?

Not only the best Stunt Performance Of All Time but also the Best, Scary and Bone Chilling Opening in Movie History.
R.I.P Susan Backlinie!
The best Stunt Performane in the most Scary and Best Movie Opening Ever, What A Legacy. 🫡

I love this scene, but when you find out how large and powerful the shark is, this scene makes very little sense. The shark would of bit her in two on the first chomp. It would of pulled her under so violently, not those little tugs. The scene is magnificent and horrific. 🦈

IT'S NIGHT. It says so in the screenplay!
Think logically about it. The group would NOT all be up playing guitar, drinking, smoking dope and smooching at 5am. Really?
Sorry for "nit picking" but I will never believe that it is meant to be AM and I find it a shame that you are bent on it being morning.
Just a couple of poorly filmed/edited shots. It's night I telbs ya! End of story!
Great series btw.👍

I tried to get the book back when it came out but sadly couldn’t find one . Is the book going to be released again?
Also is there any talk on maybe someone putting it on YouTube so everyone can listen?
