I've told my daughter since she was little on our travels across the wolds. I can't wait to show her this tonight.

My sister and I travelled to Leeds, which is about 40 miles South of Yorkshire Moors.   We stayed with a couple who had retired there after working on farms their whole lives, in North Yorkshire.  The first morning, we got up a bit late after travelling up from London, and they asked what we planned to do that day, did we want a packed lunch.  We said we were keen to go up to the Moors for the afternoon.  Given the late hour Olive
looked at her husband and they looked worried, so we asked why.  They said that we couldnt go for a decent hike and leave before it was getting dark...we encouraged them to elaborate and they told us that we needed to be careful of the werewolf there, that came out at night.    Now these were no nonsense North Yorkshire folk who didnt suffer fools gladly.  So my sister and I kept quiet as they carried on the warning, absolutely adamant that we should go the next day, which we did, ensuring we left before dark.   When on the moors it was a bit drizzly and misty and you could easily mistake the swirls in the mist as something moving....but they were born, bred and buttered  in the area, so we werent going to question the validity of their concerns.   This was 1980 so it goes to show it was believed to exist by locals even as late as that by my knowledge

Love how the werewolf story has travelled through all that time right up to the present day. Paul's channel is fantastic...a lot of weird stuff seems to be happening in that area of East Yorkshire
