I think I look back more fondly on the sleeve jersey era seeing how Nike has absolutely butchered nba jersey designs the last few years

@ChloeHotline 1 year ago

Never forget when lil b dropped ‘the NBA stole my swag’ cause the jerseys looked like those tight v necks he used to wear 😂

@milesh2004 1 year ago

I have literally never seen a fan wearing these jerseys

@ameliaonlinexp 1 year ago

the single most iconic nba championship of the last decade was won wearing sleeve uniforms. thats enough for me to call it a good era.

Im a Warriors fan but those sleeved jerseys the Cavs wore in the 2016 finals made them look so badass

@ninjasuperman9538 1 year ago

It’s not the fact they looked bad it’s more it just never felt right. All the games I watched with sleeved jerseys felt like both teams forgot to take off their warmups

For me, what bugs me about the sleeve jerseys is that the sleeves are very plain and added a lot of empty space. If they added some sort of piping or additional designs onto the sleeves similar to baseball jerseys, it would probably be looked at a bit more fondly.

idc what people say the 2016 cavs jerseys were fire

The Rockets Grey one, the pattern isn't a checked flag. It's the tracking pattern found on NASA's rockets, which is even more fitting for them. It's what pattern they would use to tell the position of the craft during takeoff, which for a basketball jersey? chefs kiss

Warriors, Clippers, Cavs, and Rocket had the best sleeved jerseys. Didn’t mind the jerseys then and kind of love them now. Great era of basketball

Can’t represent all Celtics fans but those Grey jerseys definitely remind me of IT. It was kind of a pressure-free time. Definitely was fun, but in a much different way than these days. (Except 2014)

Jeremy Lin not just waving Kobe off, but getting him to set a screen to free him from the clamps of... JJ Redick.

Anyway, didn't hate the sleeve era, but they needed to get those things tailored better for the players. Once you get used to shooting in them, it's fine, but the first few times you feel fabric mid-shot it gets in your head.

I didn't even realize they stopped those sleeved jerseys tbh. Maybe because so many players wear t-shirts underneath the jerseys anyways.

I’m a wolves fan, and LaVines dunk contest is absolutely what comes to mind when I think of the sleeve jerseys

@RiseOfTheKumquat 1 year ago (edited)

It's way easier to appreciate them when you know that they're not going to eventually be the standard

@salemstar17 1 year ago

I always loved when the nba tried new ideas, especially with jerseys. Christmas jerseys, sleeved jerseys, chinese new year jerseys, retros, random alternates, nickname jerseys, etc. Literally the only thing we get now are city jerseys

@adamfauver1164 1 year ago

Note on the Cavs jersey - The team had someone tailor the sleeves after LeBron ripped them to make them loose sleeves going forward for those it bothered
