Bill Pullman's speech in this was Epic!

That “Welcome to Earth” punch scene was hilarious!

"Forget the fat lady, you're obsessed with the fat lady"
XD
Great banter between those two

I haven't watched this since my daughter was born and hearing the "Is Mommy sleeping now?" line and imagining myself in the fathers shoes was a real gut punch.

Bill Pullman's Presidential speech is still one of the best moments in film. Best delivery of a speech.

greatest speech in movie history 🗽🦅🇺🇸 happy 4th everyone 🥳🍻

This, Men in Black, and Armageddon with Bruce Willis were major late 90s movies that will always be considered hit classics

"We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!" That deliverance gives me goosebumps every time.

Fun fact, the city burning flames early in the film were not cgi. Too early for that. They built city models, flipped them on their side, and sent flames through them recorded with a high speed camera.

"Wow, things existed in the 90's?"

@chefskiss6179 4 years ago

"DAVID, TELL HIM!"

I still get goosebumps.
NICE one, Mary :)

This was one of the last films to rely heavily on minature models which is one reason the special effects hold up despite some aging 90s CGI because the CGI was used to supplement the practical effects

@Enrique-Garcia 4 years ago

Those weren't "graphics", they built actual models of all those buildings and city blocks and blew them up on film. They actually built the spaceships, the aliens and alien suits, even the canyon that the fighter jets flew through. That's why everything looked so good, because it was real.
