I do love how when you attack Darkstar for too long, Rufus shoots you and either says “back off” or “hey!” He loves his doggy.

Cloud's Internnal monologue : (Is he fucking hitting on me?)

Rufu's internal monologue : (I'm fucking hitting on him.)

"Like it? Course' you do."
"Yeah. You should be honored."

Really simple lines, but holy shit I feel like I got flexed on so goddamn hard

I love how  dude in a wedding dress with his toy terrier just waltzes in to a fight at his dad's funeral by a chopper 10/10 best moment in a game.

I see Rufus shops for coats in the same store as Seto Kaiba

The guy can't be completely evil since he sent his dog away. He loves his puppy.

Rufus: YOU SCUFFED MY GIUSEPPE BRAND SUIT!!
Cloud: YOU should try his DRESSES! WAY more comfortable!

"toss a coin to your soldier."

Rufus might not be physically strong but it is extremely hard to read his next moves his fighting style and strategic tactics were really impressive and it shows by how synchronized he is with his well trained darkstar pet as well.

"like that? of course, you do."

it's like he's aware of how goddamn cool he is to the player.

I like that he can actually hold his own in a fight.

"My father ruled Shinra through money, I'm gonna rule it through fear"
- I think that's what Rufus says in the OG

i don't know about you guys.  after this scene im hyped to see Vincent now.

Cloud Strife VS. The spare change in Rufus' pocket

Rufus: Now tell me...who the DEVIL are you?
Cloud: I'm Cloud. Former SOLDIER. (Voice in his head; 1st Class) 1st Class.
Barret: Barret! Father! Lover! Fighter! And leader of Avalanche!
Tifa: Tifa! Bartender!
Aerith: Aerith! I sell flowers!
Red: Red X I I I. And I'M hungry.

In the original, Aerith claimed nobody’s ever seen him bleed or cry. But only after this remade battle did I believe that to be true.

They nailed Rufus' voice.

Anyone notice how Rufus has only 6 shots? Every time he shoots (including to move) count the shots, and you can predictably tell when he will reload and be open to an attack.

Props to anyone at SE who sat down and thought "how can we make these two characters that have never met before fight in the most sexually charged, homoerotic way possible?"
I just love how Rufus shamelessly flirts with Cloud, as everyone else in this game does.

Ok they really made me like Rufus and now I actually want him to have a much larger role going forward .
