I bought a new 2019 Ranger. One of the selling points was it shared the same 10R80 transmission as the F-150. At 28,000 miles this year, all the bad shifting symptoms happened, extended warranty just expired. Once I read Ford would not fix the transmission, I had All City Transmission of Kennewick, WA rebuild the transmission with the upgraded CDF Drum, upgraded after market valve body and new transmission anodized shell. Shifts much better and mileage has improved. This truck I hope to keep. This will also be my last Ford. This is coming from a formal loyal Ford owner. Ford knowingly sold me and millions of others a flawed transmission. Shame on you Ford management.

I plan to keep my 2015 with the 2nd gen 5.0 coyote, and the 6 speed transmission for a very long time. It's only got 62,000 miles and I change all the fluids regularly. ALL of them.

I had a 21 f150 with the 2.7l. I put 65k on it before upgrading to a 26 f250. I had zero issues with the 10r80 in my truck. I hauled 1000 pounds every day for work. Seemed to work just fine. The 10r140 in the f250 has had a jolt upon engine start up probably 6 or 7 times in the year i have owned it. But drives great!

I'll never buy a Ford again. I had an extended warranty on a 2018 F-150...Ford refused to fix the trans. After the warranty expired they were more than happy to charge me $6500 to rebuild it. Fuck Ford, I guess repeat business doesn't mean anything to them.

I have 130000 on my 2020. Atleast 3/4 of that is towing. No problems. there wad a recall that was donw.

Still too many speeds that are not needed. Six or less than 8 is more than enough. More speeds more shifts that cause more wear over time.

The case on these 10 speeds is too flimsy like it's too thin that's why the valve bodies get warped and the thing locks up in a gear and stops. If the case where the valve body bolts up to was more thicker it wouldn't have the problems it has but because the input and output shaft flex so much from a week case this is what u get

I've owned Fords for many decades. Our 2022 Navigator's 10 speed self destructed. The rebuild under warranty was a mess. It was traded on a 5.7 Hemi/ZF 8 speed Wagoneer, which has been flawless for 4 years. My son in law bought a new F150 in 2025. In less than 1k miles, the transmission failed. Never again Ford. I bought a new truck in June, after having sold my 11 year old f150. The new truck is a 2026 Ram 2500 Power Wagon.
