I'm shopping for a new rtt and your video review is the most honest, down-home review I've seen. Thanks for being real. I think you may have sold me on Alu-Cab.

I like how the struts are inside the hardshell when closed versus others where they exist on the outside of the shell.  Those seem really prone to getting snagged on a branch, breaking, and leaving you in a bind.

Great Video
Thanks for sharing

Great video and full of useful details. I’m a newb to this type of overlanding so this was a perfect amount of details to get started 👍

My issue is space. We have a 23zero armadillo x3.  Used to have an x2, but with me and my fiance and some gear it felt like we didn't have any space ( and it is a 2-3) person tent.  We've been places where we had to hunker down at and it made me realize I wanted more breathing room. Now the issue is having the x3 that is massive,  it makes it super hard for me to consider a single clamshell tent regardless of the quality of it, which I'm sure there's no doubt alu cabs are high,  they're just too small full stop. The x frame ones are a bit better but just still too small 🤷  our tent is quick to open but obviously that doesn't even compare to clamshells I know. I just wish they made a clamshell a foot or more wider than standard

Very helpful info. Thanks man!

Thanks for a thorough walk through. . I do have a question . The box system taking the place of the bed . Where in the US did you get this. Or was this made in aussie. Great video , thx

Oh btw. Howler is so freakin rad!!!! Can’t wait to ride oz trails.

Hey dude I have had the other rtt also and you nailed exactly what I thought about them also! Soft shell became horrible after 3 years , the fabric and zips already wore out and made packing it a nightmare,  it's always worse on the last day when you cannot be bothered with all the effort , the thin ladder steps is a huge downfall on most other rtt but these look amazing.  Feet get sensitive after walking and diving round all day etc and the last thing you want is to tip toe up these things in minor pain.
Great video and was exactly the most truthful opinion I've seen on YouTube review for these

Awesome vid dog! Was cool seeing the different tent models and thoughts.

I’ve been through 3 RTTs and already eyeing a 4th iteration so I feel this struggle 😂

I was hoping to see a discount code for the hoodie. :)

Just listened to this entire video. Are you going to the NORRA expo in two weeks?

Sounds like you really miss the Camper with Wedge set up. Alu-cab comes with a hefty price point. I went with Harker because in 6"5 and it had the longest sleeping platform. much lower price point.

How do the FSR tents compare? Like on the new Taco build.

Curious on what your intro instrumental song is?😂 always stoked for your new videos! Watching from Ogden Utah area!

Nice rig.  Looks like the "Dirty 30" or maybe a "Dirty TRD"

Great review. Bought one of these new in Feb 25. So well built and streamline. Mine came with a condensation valve on the back that I think is made by Factor 55  and so far I've had zero issues with condensation. Also it has a second rain screen like the one on the back that covers the side entrance if you want to. Im 6. 3" and can easily fit straight in it unlike many of the other tents on the market. Also worth noting that the tent material is a dual layer for extra insulation and very strong compared to many on the market. I love that the gas struts fold up inside the tent unlike most that have them outside to the elements. Also having heard of so many tents leaking on seams I was sold on this tent because the Aluminum shell is all welded seams so water cannot get in. Weight is a little heavier than you said I believe its around 180lbs and another 20lbs for the ladder when stored inside the tent. Overall not the cheapest tent but I expect this thing will last much longer than others because of the quality of the build. Love it!

Also, recliner mode is insane

Great video! Thanks for all the info. I really wish Alu cab would give us more direct mounting for specific vehicles. Just to have it mount lower to the roof of the vehicle. Once you add a rack and the tent you're sitting 12-15 inches higher than stock. They have some  direct mounts but it's extremely limited. That being said - My first tent was a gen 3 alu cab. eventually sold it and moved to a GFC and have been happy with it. The alu cab has more features and arguably better materials, but with the ride height (direct mount) and weight, the GFC is great for a daily driver vehicle.
