Thank you for posting this. Jerry was a friend of mine. He befriended me when I was 17 years old fletching his arrows, later became his bow tech. Never had any idea he even did music until I was at his house for a cookout lol. Is wife Priscilla gave me one of his belt buckles when he passed

Reed was genuine real human being RIP, you are truly missed.

Jerry Reed one of the best pickers that ever lived.

i could listen to Jerry Reed tell stories all day long man.

In the South, Smokey and the Bandit is a documentary.

There will only be one Jerry Reed, RIP Sir.

Being called "son" by Jerry Reed had to be the coolest feeling in the world.

Jerry was known mostly for his comic acting and goofy songs, but he was such an incredible guitarist.  Just an amazing picker!  👌

Man, that guy is a national treasure!

My mother knew him at okeefe high school she said he would miss class and they always sent her to find him and he would be outside on campus somewhere playing his guitar I had the honor of meeting him in the early 70s as a young boy we ran in to him at the varsity in Atlanta which is a big fast food place my mom talked to him for a minute he was very cordial to us I'll never forget it

My Georgia boy! I was there when Burt drove that Trans Am out of the rig & peeled out of the driveway, we lived 2 miles from Snowman's house in Jonesboro Georgia the summer of '76 & I rode my bike up there to watch that! I have seen SATB about 300 times & know it word for word & just about every place they filmed in north Georgia

Stacey this is absolute gold. Thank you for sharing with us, this made my day.

Jerry is a national treasure. Jerry and Elvis together, two of the rockingest vets to ever live.

I knew Jerry. I'm from Alabama & the second or third time i talked to Jerry he told me the story of his song "Alabama Wild Man". He said he always considered himself just as much an Alabama native as a Georgia native. Because his dad was from Sylacauga Alabama & his mom was from Opelika Alabama. They moved to the Atlanta area shortly before Jerry was born, looking for work. Jerry Reed Hubbard was the most down to earth "star" i've ever met.

Got to have several beers with Jerry after a concert that had him, Pirates of the Mississippi and Martina McBride in Mobile Alabama. I was in the Coast Guard and we did security. After we sat on the stage and had beers and Jerry came out with a cooler and drank with us for a while telling stories. It was amazing. When were done he just said "Welp, see you boys later" gets on his bus, sits in the drivers seat, closes the door honks twice and drives away.. He was amazing.

I'm a retired law enforcement guy and years ago I was sent to Georgia for an instructor vehicle driving school. Several of us were learning the "pit maneuver" from recognized experts at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC). This was back in 2015 or 2016 and shortly after arriving for the school, we met our instructors for the week. You'd have thought that Smokey and the Bandit had just been released............those guys had that movie memorized and would refer to it almost like the Bible. Great guys, great school and an even greater movie.......thank you Stacey David for letting the rest of us enjoy Jerry Reed again, even if only for a little while.

R.I.P. Jerry, and thank you Stacey for showing us what a great guy he was.

The talent of Jerry was UN measurable. Greatly missed.

Jerry Reed is a legend and an army veteran. Thank you Jerry for your service to our country.

Glad this showed up in my feed. Jerry Reed was a Real One. RIP
