My honest reaction to Jubilee’s “Black People Debate Their Hottest Takes” 👀
There were definitely some GOOD hot takes in this debate. 😂 Like I had a good time listening and actually enjoyed watching the conversation unfold even when I disagreed with someone. I think overall people brought something to the dialogue.
That said… some moments had me pausing like... 👀
The men were WAY too intense with some of the women, especially in the beginning! Also I felt like certain conversations could have happened without things getting so heated. At the same time, some of the women brought up topics that felt a little dated to me, which made for some interesting moments of discussion.

FACT CHECK 🧾
CLAIM:
“Black families in America make around $10,000 a year.”
THE ACTUAL NUMBERS:
According to the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2024 American Community Survey, the median household income for Black/African American households was $56,706.
That means half of Black households had income above that amount and half had income below it.
So… to the guy who said $10,000… 😂
My brother… it’s a little higher than that. 😭

Overall, though, I appreciated that people were willing to put their opinions out there and have the conversation. Not every take has to be one we agree with — sometimes the value is in hearing the perspective, challenging it, and actually talking about it.
So let’s talk about it 👇🏾
What did YOU think of the hot takes? Which one did you agree or disagree with the most?
