7:00 you absolutely have to move around the tree in real life. you notch the side facing the direction you want to go and then just a little cut on the other side releases the pressure.  if you're cutting trees with your feet planted you will probably be crushed or just ruin your chainsaw when a whole tree is standing on the bar. and you definitely want to move around the tree if you're cutting with an axe. sorry for my lumberjack rant. i hate how kelvin just eats rotten meat I throw out and sleeps on the ground. he should have a mechanic where he automatically makes a bed somewhere close by wherever you make a camp. and at least hunt fresh raw meat like Virginia. its crazy how she karate kicks rabbits and birds lmao

You have to go around a tree in real life.

You cut on the side you want the tree to fall to and then you make another cut higher on the opposite side and push the tree.

If you build a campfire underneath your drying racks it makes the meat dry out faster.

A little advice on chopping the trees, you can move your character forward backwards left and right while you are chopping and that way you don't have to turn to a different part of the tree. So start chopping the tree while you're close to it and then move back into the left to get more of the tree.
