Saline Removal vs Laser Tattoo Removal

FADED Podcast

Some tattoos just won't budge. You've had multiple laser sessions, spent hundreds of dollars, and that stubborn pigment is still sitting there, mocking you.

After 15 years in tattoo removal at Studio Kiku, I've seen plenty of cases where laser technology reaches its limit. That's when we need to talk about the last resort alternatives.

Today I’m talking about saline removal, the technique we turn to when laser removal is no longer effective.

iv done saline and I like it compared to laser which I have also done. I do saline first and laser for leftover pigments.

I wanted to remove my heavily saturated lip neutralized ink with saline but I was just told by one professional so far i wouldn’t be able to do it because of the risk of hypo or hyperpigmentation and the deep saturated ink 😭😭 is saline a high risk for darker skin even though it’s better than laser ???

I have no tattoos, no skin trauma from the tattoos OR their removal ( because I never had any). I have skin trauma from sun exposure & so far, 2 small surgeries to remove suspect tissue. I will continue on as I am & I won't add any risk to myself from either botched tattoos or their removal.

Hi, would you say that saline removal is optimal for white (or other hard-to-get colours) tattoos? For instance, a black and white tattoo would be best off with laser for the black, and then saline on the white spots which may "melt" from the laser? Additional question, can white ink which was damaged during laser be removed using saline?
(I realise 99% of the answers are "it depends on X, Y and Z things about the tattoo, ink, skin, etc etc etc", but in very general terms? :))

after reading these comments, haw can anyone get a tattoo in the first place?

Would you still advise doing a laser test spot if you already know the tattoo contains white ink and is in a very visible area? I'm asking because I've heard that if oxidation happens, it may not be limited to the exact area the laser touches, but could also spread to the surrounding areas.

I had my eyebrows done years ago. Now it just looks like it was all shaded. What would be the best way to remove this?

Two days ago I had cosmetic tattoed eyebrows done. I am very disappointed with the outcome. Is it better to treat with saline right away, or wait until the skin recovers and have the brows lasered? I dont want to injure my brow hairs. Any suggestions?

I have a light green tattoo on my leg and got a couple sessions of Pico laser. Only learnt about titanium dioxide and ink oxidising after it turned muddy brown... I've really been hoping to try saline removal as it might be the only effective way other than surgical removal, but I've also seen discussions online about saline removal only diluting the pigment particals, turning it blurry, instead of drawing it out.. May I ask if you have seen complete removal with saline removal?

I have had 4 sessions
And had good reduction of the tattoo
The therapist did mention saline next session
Do you think if getting results albeit slowly would you continue with laser.
Saturated tattoo ? Means old tattoos

In 2002 I passed out drunk, and awoke with smiley faces tatooed on my knees (the JackAss years)! Yeserday I made the lemon juice/salt paste, and scrubbed my left knee till it completely scabbed over, and I can STILL see the smiley face underneath the abrasion? I guess I must keep going till theres blood running down my leg. Oh well, "if your gonna be stupid, you've gotta be tough!"

I had my eyeliner tattooed over a decade ago, top and bottom. I was young and let one of my motherinlaws friends do it, i was under the impression she was trained but i honestly have no clue. She went too deep and it blew out in spots on top, even more so with time. I have had two saline removal sessions done with some results but mine is the worst she had seen at that point. It's been awhile since my last session and while i still want to continue, just thinking about the pain of getting it done stops me. The recovery isn't bad. Ive seen very few places online offer lazor for eyeliner plus and none near me or i would try it
