I’ve hiked to the summit from multiple directions, driven the highway to the summit, and have taken both the old and new trains to the summit. The most fun was the train ride. The most frightening was the drive. The most rewarding was the hike.

Just went on the Cog Railway today. I just wanted to let people know that prime seats are on the side with the three chair groups. You get to see the Mountain View as opposed to just trees and rocks! Still a fun experience though if you can’t get the prime spot.

I do relate to part where your son didn’t look out the window. I took my teenager with us to Greece, Paris and Switzerland as a teen and she just wanted to hurry back home to her boyfriend! Now as an adult herself she wishes she had enjoyed it more.

I've run...yes run to the summit from manitou a few times running the Pikes peak Ascent and Marathon. Once doing the double (run up Saturday, run up down sunday) in one weekend!

Last year had a life changing event and decided to concentrate on fitness and wellbeing. I never walked but I did Mt Snowdown and Ben Nevis in UK. I've flown to Colorado to climb it tomorrow as my third mountain. Ultimate goal I'd love to climb in Alaska but I'm not a professional mountain climber just doing this to lose weight and enjoy life which I have done.

I mountain biked up Barr trail to the summit, twice. 7 hours to get up, 1 hour to get down. On a 26" hardtail. I'm the BEST

have drove the highway lots of times great trip also took train in late 1989 when it was a lot chipper to ride to much money to much money today chipper to drive

I haven't been on the Cog yet but I did drive it myself in October 23'...it was fun and not scary...to me! 😂

I lived in Colorado and this was one of my favorite experiences. All the locals called it “touristy” I disagree it’s awesome and you don’t need to hike. And $80 is nothing for that experience fricken movie tickets are now $30 now.

Coming from the twisting, hairpin, fall off a cliff roads in North Carolina's mountains the drive up to the top of Pike's Peaks wasn't scary but the effect altitude has on your car is astounding. You feel like you lost half your power or added a ton of weight. On the slow hairpins sometimes you wonder if the thing is going to make it up the next hill!
