I don’t think Opie ever had any special radio instincts. What he did have was a temper, a boatload of insecurities, an inferiority complex, and a complete lack of self-awareness. These traits are negative, sure, and they made Opie pretty unlikable to most people, but they also played a big role on O&A, turning what was just a comedy show into a mix of soap opera and gladiator arena. Some of the best and most iconic moments were the fights, feuds, and drama... most of which Opie started. Not because of his great show instincts (he's too stupid for that), but because he was overly sensitive to everything.

Still, a contribution is a contribution, so I guess it deserves some credit. And, thankfully, he’s continuing to make that same contribution today by providing us with the same kind of entertainment.

I remember driving down a local Road on Long Island when Anthony originally showed up on Opie's show to do the song parody.... Opie was doing a late night shot on WBAB which is a small Long Island radio station..... when Anthony came in with others and did their song parody with some of the funniest stuff there was..... before that and when they took off Opie like I said was doing a small little show on a local Long Island radio station and he makes it sound like he was on top of the world..... I've been to roadshows I've been on the bleachers I have shirts that go all the way back to the yellow ones I have a lot of interest and a lot of time that was enjoyable with them now it's unrecognizable... Opie is doing the exact show that he used to call and Jocktober.... geesh I could go on!

I don't care if he's mentally ill or not, Opie is a piece of shit at his core.
