She died twice and came back without fear — then stopped an attempted murder. Barbara Bartolome's near-death experience and what dying teaches.

Barbara Bartolome — the twice-dead redhead, founder of IANDS Santa Barbara — lives the Way of Service without ever having heard the name. Her near-death experience removed her fear of death, and that fearlessness is what her service runs on: she pulled four attackers off a young man with thirty stab wounds while her daughters waited in the car, because she was placed there and "should not question" it. In the channel's first guest interview, Daniel draws out what her life demonstrates: purpose comes in phases, not as a single assignment (a voice in her living room ordered a scrapbook store, and a bank approved $250,000 in fourteen minutes); the kindness you do is the kindness you will see in your life review; and it comes back — across thirty years, and on her account, across lifetimes. Asked by a mother in the chat how she handles fear for her children, she answers: "I choose not to worry. I choose to help."

The evidence is her own record. In December 1987 a botched myelogram sent contrast dye into her brain; she flatlined, watched eight minutes of CPR from the ceiling, and recounted the room to the surgeons afterward — the neurosurgeon stormed out, and the orthopedic surgeon who restarted her heart took her hands and asked what she saw. At 55 she learned she had also died at 18 months, then found her father's own near-death experience in his handwriting in a garage box: three NDEs in one family, none of them ever spoken aloud. Daniel connects her after-death communications, her past-life regression, and the eleven-pound baby a doctor refused to hear about to the life review research, Kenneth Ring's "benign virus," Bruce Greyson's forty-year aftereffects data, the University of Virginia Division of Perceptual Studies' reincarnation and after-death communication research, and the surveys showing 4–15% of people have had an NDE — while almost none of them talk about it.

About the Way of Service Channel

Daniel is a biomedical engineer turned consciousness researcher, bridging ancient wisdom with modern science. The Way of Service is a practical philosophy: find your unique purpose through service to others, and every other problem in life starts to solve itself. No dogma. No fluff. Just the convergence of what every wisdom tradition has said for thousands of years, what people who have died and come back consistently report, and what consciousness research is now confirming.

Live every Tuesday at 7:00 PM Central.
