Tyrion Lannister’s trial for Joffrey’s murder was never really about proving his guilt. This Game of Thrones breakdown reveals how Tywin Lannister controlled the outcome, how Cersei, Varys, Meryn Trant, Pycelle and Shae turned real moments from Tyrion’s life against him, and why his legendary “I’m guilty of being a dwarf” speech wasn’t a breakdown at all. Tyrion did snap. He lost control of his emotions and went into a rage. A person in that emotional state is the most honest you will ever see. They mean everything they say. They may regret the things they say or do later, but at that moment they don't care about consequences.Tyrion was angry. The abuse heaped upon him boiled over. He didn't care how his words made him look. He didn't care that he was basically putting his head on the chopping block. He wanted, needed, to hurt those that were persecuting him. He had no way to physically hurt them so he used the one thing available. His words.

We knew Tryion was cooked when King Tommen recused himself based on his relationship as a nephew of the defendant. But, then Tommen turns the proceedings over to the defendant's father

I don't know why Jaime didn't demand full innocense. No "mercy", no "taking the black", he had the leverage. Instead of "if you let him live" it could have been "innocent. Tyrion walks free with zero punishment, those are my terms."

Ned Stark did commit treason. He forged King Robert's last will and testament. Robert named Joffrey as his son and heir. Ned altered Robert's named successor. I wonder how things would have played out if Ned offered King's Landing with the truth. King Robert names his son Joffrey to be his successor, but Joffrey is in fact a bastard and not a true born son of Robert. Then resigned as Hand if the King.
