๐ The Purple Tomatillos in My Garden ๐๐
One of the most eye-catching plants in my garden this season has been the purple tomatillo. Unlike the traditional green varieties, these unique plants stand out with their deep purple stems, dark-veined leaves, and beautiful fruits that develop rich shades of violet as they mature. Wrapped in their signature papery husks, the fruits hang like little lanterns throughout the plant, creating a striking display of color.
The purple tomatillos have been both productive and resilient, thriving in the warm sunshine and continuing to produce new flowers and fruit throughout the growing season. Bright yellow blossoms attract bees and other pollinators, bringing life and activity to the garden every day.
When harvested, the fruits offer a tangy, citrus-like flavor similar to green tomatillos but with a slightly sweeter, more complex taste.
