Join Sean and Kat aboard Celebrity Equinox for a 14-night Antarctica cruise, round-trip from Buenos Aires, Argentina. This full Let’s Cruise video follows our entire journey - from sea days and specialty dining to the Drake Passage, Antarctica’s icy landscapes, and a weather-related itinerary change.
We head south to Ushuaia, explore on a national park excursion, and cross the Drake Passage before spending two days around Antarctica. Between the mountains, glaciers, snow and changing visibility, we experience this part of the world from the ship. Back onboard, we try a Lawn Club cabana, high tea, Le Petit Chef and more of Celebrity Equinox’s dining experiences.
Weather shaped several parts of our sailing. A schedule adjustment meant we passed Cape Horn around 1 a.m., in darkness, so we couldn’t see it. Our first Drake Passage crossing brought noticeable rolling, while the return crossing was much calmer.
Our planned Port Stanley visit in the Falkland Islands was canceled when strong winds closed the tender port. Instead, Celebrity Equinox added an overnight stay in Puerto Madryn, giving us time to explore and take a replacement penguin excursion before continuing to Montevideo.
Come along for the scenery, the time at sea, and our firsthand experience of how this Antarctica itinerary unfolded.
