Enjoy your weekend everyone

What better way to show off the new console...you have the 25th anniversary where you'll talk about the last 25yrs and then you'll want to talk about the future, what's coming next, perfect timing.

I remember when everyone was hyping Alinea's numbers when it was about Helldivers selling on Xbox even Windows Central. Maybe Matthew Ball will clear it up, or maybe Xbox will start sharing numbers again now that they've "returned to growth".

bluesky is the home of the unhinged LOL

55:12 Everything, Everywhere, All at Once?😊

12:49 :D

Good Show Rand and Jez 🍻

Yeah I dont see xbox acquiring any major studios/publishers anymore but what I do see them doing is likely a return to OG Xbox and 360 strategy which is working with devs worldwide to get exclusive games and/or exclusive content for games its just cheaper then buying up studios and running them.

My stepdad, a non gamer, loved the Halo tv show lol 😂

They made a deal with Rockstar so they could farm cloud streaming hours and sell cloud streaming packages which is why they put limit on Cloud hours and charge people on last gen more money to play

I have a story tied to the skipping cutscenes debate at 1:14:21. I used to skip cutscenes in games until I played gta 5 for the first time. When I got to the final mission, I chose to kill Trevor not knowing what the deathwish option meant. Afterwards, I looked it up and felt terrible. Since then, I never skip cutscenes (at least on my first play through) of games.

32:00 we're all completely enslaved and hypnotized by the tech we use.  Good point Rand you da man.

Any chance more Falcom games on XBOX?

1:04:50 Rand, you are an elder millennial. 😊

Naw jez that statement about rogue trader resonated so hard with me .i tried it on gamepass 8.5/10 and ended up deep in warhammer lore 😂🤦🏽‍♂️

Jez:  the business model works.
Sure, boss.  Xbox margins are 3% and asha has called xbox porfoundly unhealthy.  Why lie?

I'm 33 and I'm definitely millennial

Astro Bot would like a word when it comes to gameplay is king w no story.

GTA6 Helix 2027 maybe

Xbox cannot return to growth.  The company is not focused on Xbox.  They are still worrying about everything except making good games.

There’s no justification for Microsoft to even contemplate licensing agreements for entertainment projects outside of Xbox when the fundamental  core of Xbox is broken.

Asha is not the one in control.  She’s just the current middle manager assigned to the Xbox “project.”

There is no gene that predisposes people to becoming gamers.  However, there is meaning to the phrase “Gaming is in our DNA” for brand identity purposes.  Microsoft has clearly capitalized on this phrasing with Helix (and previously XNA during the X360 era which no one discusses anymore).

The reason Microsoft is not growing Xbox is that they don’t want to.  They gave up on this vision a long time ago.  There’s no finite group of customers that consoles can be sold to.  There’s no societal rule requiring people stay solely within one particular brand ecosystem their entire life because of a digital library there.

You grow by competing aggressively.

Right now, the ONLY questions people should be asking center around why Xbox “leadership” has not done more to take advantage of the wide open holes Sony has in their PlayStation strategy given their unprecedented string of PR disasters.

Why are there barely any Xbox Series X consoles on retail store shelves right now throughout the U.S.?

Why is Microsoft not also reminding gamers that GTA 6 is NOT a PS5 exclusive?

Why didn’t Microsoft simply say they will continue to support physical disks on their console platforms moving forward?

Why did Microsoft implement playtime limits for cloud streaming at the theoretical best time to promote its cloud gaming service capabilities given rising hardware costs?

These are just a few questions that need answering in my mind before I buy into the rhetoric that the console market is stagnant.

In my opinion, Microsoft is simply not serious about Xbox.
