It started as a simple hike, just me, the trees, and the endless quiet of the forest. I had planned to be out before dusk, but somewhere along the way, I lost the trail. Then, in the distance, the first rumble of thunder. A storm was coming. I quickened my pace, searching for a way out, but the trees only grew taller, their shadows stretching as the sky darkened. Deep within the forest, I stumbled upon an old, fallen tree—its roots twisted and hollow, offering just enough cover to wait out the storm. From my hiding place, I watched flashes of lightning split the sky, followed by the slow, rolling growl of thunder.
Trapped but safe, I listened. The night stretched on, and the storm became my companion, a reminder of nature’s power and my own smallness within it. There was nothing left to do but wait.

The adult equivalent to when your parents let you play a little further than usual in the forest as a kid, and you gotta haul ass home because you see the storm coming.

I love racing against time when I'm hiking and can see the storm clouds roll up behind me.

My mom and I always sat on our front porch with hot tea, and watched the rain. She loved thunderstorms. When she died last year, there were a lot of storms those first few weeks, and it was so comforting, felt like I was back home. Rain is a beautiful thing, and I love that people put these videos on YouTube. ❤

As a young kid i used to walk the dogs in the woods after school. Before the development, it was deep forest for miles. I will.never forget the feeling of a thunderstorm building. The leaves turning upside down, the rumble getting closer. I would stay out as long as i could before the downpour. This video brought back memories i havent thought of in years

Your videos are awesome. Small suggestion: Only after listening to about 3 or 4 of them I found out that you actually use real mics. I assumed everything was modulated/computer generated. After learning about this my respect for this channel only increased. I would highlight this in the video title or somewhere people can see this more clearly than in the description. In an era of AI and automated stuff, manual craft has a lot of value :)

You have no idea how happy I am. My family has two dogs from a shelter and one of them was abused and she can be really aggressive around other people. I found your video and played it for them and she had been resting and sleeping since, and he sister has been extremely peaceful. It truly calmed my worries, thank you. :)

In a genre of videos that is frequently made up of AI slop or royalty free nature sounds accompanied by a still nature photo, I absolutely love your videos. You definitely do not get enough credit for the time you take to make something that you clearly feel passionate about. From taking your own videos or designing your own environments for the audio, to going out and RECORDING THAT AUDIO YOURSELF, I am absolutely touched by the small drop of humanity and love you bring to this type of videos community. I went on a very mild hike with my sister in law a couple years ago for her birthday. It was early July and in the middle of the trail, a summer shower came and broke the humidity. It is one of my fondest memories. It was incredible - the rest of the hike we were so refreshed and in touch with the woods and wetlands around us. So many frogs! I felt so young and full of joy. I hope to feel that again one day. <3
