In this video I travel to Monterrey to step inside the factory that armors Mexico. A business that keeps growing in a country where the cartels build their own combat vehicles, known as armored monsters, and where the war on drugs has forced the State to respond with ever tougher armored cars.
Marcial Herrera, founder of TPS and former secretary of public security, opens the doors of his two plants to show me how a vehicle is transformed step by step, and how they build the Black Mamba, the combat vehicle used by Mexican security forces against organized crime. I also find out how much it costs to armor a car in Mexico, who is allowed to buy one, and who gets turned away.
