Is camping on the Great Wall of China legal? We honestly don't know if we committed a crime to make this video... We paid a tour company to get Tracey and I a camping permit allowing us to sleep on the Great Wall of China โ which IS a thing you can do. BUT they also told us not to post this on the internet at the end of the trip, which makes us think they pocketed our permit money instead of actually buying one.

We always wanted to see all the 7 wonders of the world but we never thought we would be able to sleep on one. Our driver picked us up in Beijing and took us about 2 and a half hours away toward the Jinshanling and Simatai sections of the wall. We met our guide there, a lovely lady who lived her entire life near the Chinese wall. We walked on and beside this section for a few hours โ such an impressive experience, especially since for most of it we had the entire Great Wall to ourselves. No crowds, no tourists, just us and thousands of years of history.
