I really like this method because I don’t really want to bother with a face cast and I could also use this for bigger pieces like a chest prosthetic.

Do you coat the clay in vaseline first before the latex, or do you just add the latex directly on?

Great tutorial! I wish i could've seen the whole process like removing the prosthetic. I've done this before but I always have a hard time getting it off in one piece.

Does it affect the results if you use plasteline instead of clay?

Hi, +ellimacs sfx makeupI was wondering if the consistency of corn starch would be ok instead of baking flour?I find it's really thin but works awesome on thickening stuffYou think it will work?

would all-purpose flour work the same? Im afraid it would be too grainy

While this method works fine for halloween, this wouldn't really work for a diy film. Instead of sculpting and then using slush latex on top, why not just build some clay walls around the pieces and mix together some ultracal 30 or hydrocal and create strong plaster molds out of it. At that point you could then either carefully brush in a thin layer of latex to create slush latex pieces or use gelatine or even silicone. Plus this method means you have a strong mold you can use to create multiple copies with whenever you want.
