Every time a full episode of Mythbusters comes across my recommended I just sit here like “I can’t believe this show ever got made”. The best, truly the best.

I always love it when they bring in an expert in whatever field they're dabbling in. They always present them like a badass.

Never ceases to amaze me just how many different goddamn things Jamie is experienced in.  From survival training to professional diving with THOUSANDS of hours under his belt to water skiing to farming to pet shop owner to <insert random thing here>.

you should see what they do with Excavators in countries where there is little to no safety requirements

Grant.... Such a huge loss to humanity that he passed so young. What a great human being.

I always thought the duct tape airplane myth was silly. The first planes were basically cotton cloth stretched over a wooden frame. Holes were repaired with glued on cloth patches over a bit of stitching to keep the cloth tight…… why wouldn’t duct tape work?

I used some Gaffer's tape on a fairing for a streamlined bicycle, and within two months of riding in the sun it hardened into  a very tough, well bonded surface. I think that duct taped airplane would have been heavy, but quite flyable,( though not FAA approved), had that baking process in the sun transpired. Definitely not the best covering though.

14:09 I knew they didn't like each other, but never realized it was mentioned in the show

Go to any jobsite n watch a guy load that into the truck in about 2 mins after 6 beers and 12 hours in the sun.

The wakeboard thing is like we used to do. At the beach, we would ski behind a truck driving down the beach. Took quite a long tow rope.

In this episode, we see Kari Byron become the "Kar-Bear"!

27:39 "MY BERET!"

When this episode came out I had never put a front-end loader into a tipper myself but had seen it done.

Duct tape : The Handyman's secret weapon!

I grew up watching this show so finding out they didn't like each other really bummed me out.

Every pilot died a little inside when Kari shredded that fabric. I assume car guys probably feel the same when they destroy cars on here.

Real brown bears though have blunt claws. It's one of the major differences with black bears who have sharp claws. Blunt claws are stronger so brown bears can dig better and can do more damage with paw swipes as well as get more traction while running. They also have more dexterity just like human nails help us get more dexterity.

Doesn't every roll of duct tape have a cardboard center that isn't used? Do you think they accounted for those too?

Duct tape helped save the Apollo 13 mission when they used it to convert the CO2 scrubber and I think it was used on another Apollo flight as well. Amazing stuff. At the moment it’s keeping my toilet together and the pipe to the septic tank from falling  to bits. Not life threatening if it fails just very smelly.

I’m a bit skeptical about fixing a plane with duct tape—not because of the tape's strength; after all, I watch *MythBusters*—but simply because it’s hard to believe someone would have that much tape on hand to repair the plane in a situation like that.
